Description
From VIZ:
A mysterious orb envelops the city of Tokyo. All forms of communication are severed, leaving the inhabitants of the newly dubbed "Tokyo Jupiter" ignorant to their fate. Along with the United Nations, a special organization known as TERRA is formed: their mission is to liberate Tokyo from the otherwordly MU--those responsible for Tokyo's capture.
First, I'd like to state that Rahxephon was one of the first anime I've ever seen, and even now, still one of my favorite. So, of course, when the manga was published in my country, I bought the first volume. It was a huge mistake. The manga is nothing like the anime. From a poetic and beautiful story, they managed to bring out a manga where the female characters are only here for fan service (OMG, my poor Reika), and the plot is reduced to that of areally bad mecha manga. Even the art is of no match compared to the anime. Out of hope, or foolishness, I bought volume 2 a few weeks later. It was, if possible even worse. Generally, I'm not a big fan of mangas derivated from an anime, but this was totally on another level. I've never felt so disappointed reading a manga.
Honestly, it was the very first (and as of now, the last) time I considered throwing a book away. Yes, it's THAT bad.
