This one is definitely twisted and thought provoking. The 1st story was the best, and makes you stop to consider how cut and dried personalities actually are. I also enjoyed A Butler's Proper Place, because it went with the characters in Lovers in the Night - which is great as well. The odd and twisted side of human nature seems to be a good descriptive theme for these stories. Not much yaoi content, but that's ok because the story makes up for it. The artwork is also good, and typical of this author. She is among my favorites, and I've read a lot of her work. I reccomend this 1.

Truly Kindly, Title Story is Wonderful! A Variety of Eras, All Done With Great Effort!

Another academic BL! This lady presses the thinking and the emotions! I've never seen such amazing BL stories in the French Revolution era.
My favourite, -and I wish there was more- is the title story, Truly Kindly. It was interesting how she showed someone that had dangerous and violent antisocial symptoms from such a child-like perspective. And the cold, callous man who used others was the one that was -ironically- the one that really wasn't kind...Very twisty and thought-provoking.
And -of course- her artwork is such a mix of white space and dark space and sketchy lines that I can't stop looking at it. It's almost like it moves - impressionist style!
Check out NISHI Keiko's Love Songs, if you like YOSHINAGA Fumi's anthologies.

Collection of (mostly) rather twisted oneshots paying on satire and very dark humour. It's yaoi - but you'll definitely be disappointed if you're reading this for the smut. These stories will leave you thinking about motives and consequences long after you put down the book - expect to give those brain cells a workout.
