A mysterious command arrives from a "King"----- The life-threatening "Game" has now begun for the 32 students of the first year's B Class.
One day, all of the students in Nobuaki's class received their first message from someone calling themselves the "King", in which was written a baffling command. That first command was very easy. However, the commands began to escalate until a life-threatening game had begun---
Failing to obey the orders leads to death!! Their friendships are being undermined by a bottomless terror!!
I'm a sucker for stuff that explores human behavior in extreme circumstances. In that regard, Ousama Game looked promising at first... then somewhere along the lines players just started dropping all over the place, and that whole psychological aspect breaks apart. So a warning to those looking for the same thing I was - this manga does not have it.
I personally kept on reading despite the incredibly irritating main character because I wanted to find out how the game worked and how exactly people were being killed. Given the events and hints dropped throughout early manga, I expected a suspenseful story leading towards the King's final reveal. The suspense was mostly there, but the end result and final reveal here was incredibly anticlimatic and unsatisfying.
Basically I felt the same as the guy below me What's wrong with this dude, I don't know anymore, it almost feels like he gets aroused when his bestfriend f*cks his girlfriend. The fact that the main character has the same name as the author doesn't help either, feels like he's just the kind of guy the author is. Ah well I figure the mystery is just some kind of hypnotism, shallow mindbleaching and all that. This whole sex thing drove me out of interest, so, this is a rotten potato for me.
it starts very promising, but further all action revolves around "have sex with you partner's friend". well the first time it was interesting but the second time made me lose interest in this manga
Ousama Game is like wine. It gets better with time. Don't be fooled by 1st volume. Good action starts in 2nd. And by 4th volume it is EPIC! Unfortunatly, judging from number of chapters in novel, only 1 or 2 volumes left. But there are three sequels, that may get manga adaptation too.
