Such a fun loveable group of people and animals. Loved the twin doctors. Hehe sweet and sour, light and dark themes. I cried i was really touched and it made me remember my time with my pets as well thru the many years. Its just so wonderful.

As the others said, this manhwa isn't for a casual shojo type reader. Its focus is mainly on the pets. (Well the pet owners and how they interact with their pets.) All in all there's not much of what we generally consider "character development". These four people don't know one another but through living arrangements and classes, they meet, but those meetings are unimportant. They talk to each other about their pets and how to care for their pets.

The information here is good too. I've had lots of different pets, and it's easy to just think you can care for them all in the same way, but that's not really true. Even someone like me, who is 27 and has had pets all her life, managed to learn a few things while reading this. (And major props to the translator for translating all the lesson portions!)

That aside, there are a few scenes in this that move me more than I've ever been moved by any comic ever. If you have any compassion or love for animals (pets in particular), I'm sure this would move you as well. If you love pets, please read.

Don't bother with this cute little webcomic unless you're at least fairly fond of animals or have a pet yourself; it's definitely not a title to pick up if you're expecting the cliche school-life romantic comedies that are so popular nowadays. As is obvious from its title, Pet Diary is a chronicling of the lives of four devoted pet owners and their pet-related adventures. I also consider it somewhat of an edutainment work, as there are plenty of tips on how to properly care for a pet.

The four main character have no traumatizing pasts, are not involved in convoluted love polygons, are not being bullied by delinquents, are not up to their eyebrows in absurd family feuds...Nope, they are normal kids with slightly unusual preferences when it comes to how they choose to spend their free time. Believe it or not, but they actually enjoy caring for and playing with their pets, as opposed to following the typical 'sex, drugs and rock-and-roll' path that "normal" teenagers are supposed to be interested in. If that doesn't sound appealing to you then don't waste your time with this.

I won't deny it -- the school they attend is unrealistic in the extreme. But manga fans hardly have the right complain about that, since there are many, many manga / manhwa set in schools a hundred times more unbelievable and out-of-this-world. Regardless of the basic premise, the actual happenings within the story (especially those involving the animals and their issues) are quite accurate.

The art isn't splendid -- but it's rather cute, the colours are lovely, the animals are nicely illustrated and the two female leads are beautiful.

All in all, Pet Diary is a sweet, simple little story -- but it's definitely not for everyone.

I have yet to fully decide how I feel about this, but since there are no other reviews, I thought I'd offer my thoughts. So far their hasn't been much interaction between the 4 main human characters and really no story of any kind, though I get the impression this may pick up? (thus why I'm undecided) But if not, it pretty much just alternates with a different character per chapter.

It really just centers around the animals and also has a lot of educational info thrown in there. If it weren't for the bad language, I feel like it would be something to give a child who wants a pet. haha Some of the characters are also kind of annoying (well, mostly just the obnoxious twin doctors)

That's not to say it has no redeeming qualities. I've definitely gotten a few laughs and I think the idea of a school with pets sounds fun. I totally love the guy with the hamster named poop and will continue to read it for chapters with his character if nothing else.

But I have to say, out of the 3 manhwa by this author/artist group, this would be my least favorite. I was drawn to their other works by the gorgeous artwork, which is lacking in this. That's not to say the art is bad, it's just much more simple than 19/21. If I hadn't fallen completely in love with their other manhwa I don't know that I would have read this one.
