Seriously, I read this before reading the main story and any of the sides stories, and my heart is already ready to burst.
Naoik's story is, ah, *sigh* complicatedly bitter sweet?
I don't think I can explain anything right now. These stories were really overwhelming.
And the art is Beautiful.

A bit disappointed, but overall good.

I was expecting more from this. I was really interested in Naoki ever since I read Taiyou no Shita de Warae, but was slightly disappointed by how underdeveloped his story felt. Now, don't get me wrong, this mangaka is great and I've read almost all her work that's available to read online, but Naoki's story felt like it was missing something.
I'm probably the only one that didn't feel upset over Yada's fate in the slightest bit. In fact, it infuriated me how much of a coward he was when he had all the power to change things & the outcome. But his reactions were definitely realistic, I will agree on that. (I've just been reading far too much happy-go-lucky yaoi to like these sad endings...) The other stories were good as well.
Overall, this was a good read to just pass the time. Nothing impacting, though. I still would like to see more time dedicated to Naoki since he easily grew to be a favorite of mine from Yamada-sensei's work.

They were all good in this volume. The last one really struck me, though. It was incredibly sad, and I think it broke my heart. I would love to read a whole volume about the kid from that one. Hopefully he'll grow up safer and find someone who really loves him. He was a great character, really vivid and very unique to the world of manga. I'd love to know more about him.

It was all very light hearted till it got to the last chapter where i was completely BLOWN AWAY.
I was such a heart felt story and so incredibly sad. I wish that he had had a happy ending with the bully and for the bully to realise he was wrong but at least he still found happiness. <3 Amazing story.

I loved it! The stories were all so cute and funny. Only, as someone else said for Mizu Numuru, I wish we had gotten more of Yada's POV. Oh, and one of the oneshots felt rushed and out of place. I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be part of a longer series. (So many characters! It's hard to remember their names. ^^; ) Oh, and the author's comic at the end is so funny! Yamada-sensei's humor is so wacky! ^^;

This manga had me with very confused feelings, just like zeronine i felt that extra story was a bit out of place or not the way i expected....some of the other stories i can only describe them as "stupid funny".

Read this volume for one of the best oneshots in all yaoi-dom, the title story. Strictly it's not just a oneshot as we see more of Naoki in other oneshots, but this one is the best (the others about Naoki are great as well). What's so great about it? It's friggin' realistic! The characters' reactions and personalities are eloquently portrayed within one short chapter. The characters elevate the basic premise to make it excellent. Even though you're not hit over the head with it you easily grasp their motivations and feelings. And what a tragic story it is. Why read shonen-ai at all? Because of the angst of course. Yamada-sensei is truly talented and has a sense of humor as well to temper the drama.

I wish I hadn't read the extra story (v1 extra). Do NOT read it if you don't want to cry. It takes place years after the end of Chiisana Garasu no Sora (the story of Naoki and Yada). I like complex guys and Yada is certainly a complex guy. The revelation of his fate in the extra story left two straight tracks of tears on my face. Other stories in this collection -- some are hits ("We're Still Young" is the top favorite) and some are misses. Only 2 out of 10 stories are angsty (Chiisana Garau no Sora and the chess story) Other stories have a strong streak of humor. I wish I hadn't read the extra story. ...Yada, I will never cry for you again, too.
