A mysterious disease. A young man fated to die. A woman whose love accompanies him to the unavoidable end.
Oneshot (Complete)

This is a quick and bittersweet story packed with some strong feels, though to me it never felt like it was going overboard into overdramatic territory. I really don't have much to say about this, it had a couple of relatable characters and an ending which is both sad and life-affirming. It was maybe a bit too short but it IS a oneshot, but I can't imagine the story being fleshed out into a full blown manga series for example. Sometimes less is more and this oneshot is good at showing why.
Damn, if it is a manga about a guy who will die soon it must go like this... Damn and that ending just made my day.
He died anyway, but he has left something behind, not only metaphorically but actually as well, as that school nurse got pregnant...
The art captures the essence of the young man brilliantly.
He is so simple, passive and accepting of his fate; he even smiles through his bandages and wishes to have a purpose...beautiful. He is like a small child with complete trust in the world and the meaningfulness of what is meant to be.
The nurse was a fighter. She spoke up boldly against those who wished to enforce their prejudice; she spoke up to dissuade the young man from his misconception of himself. But she also allowed him to choose his own path.
It was a very touching story about two very different people.
The intimacy scene lacked strength--it was a bit emotionless, but otherwise it was a poignant one shot. As Xeronia said, it was 'en media res', so it had a lot of beginning and end missing, but it was a moment captured brilliantly.
It was a sweet and touching story. Yeah, a bit adult, but it's definitely not erotic. What you have to understand is that the story is "en media res", and really begins in the middle and not at the beginning. The characters are quite original, and nothing that anyone would ever dream of. The ending makes you smile.
I found it sweet and sentimental, despite being 'adult'. It would have fleshed more had the story been allowed more pages, but I think it does well with the limited space it has. Plus everything does happen quickly (as 3CL1P35 mentions) but the author also tries to draw in memories to convey a time lapse. Could be just me, but I like it ^_^
I suppose it was sweet at some points. I felt awfully bad for the guy because of his condition and all, but how quickly the nurse decides to come on to him was.. well, like I mentioned, a bit quick. Well, this is a oneshot, I suppose. Even so, this is a nice read if you want to take a break from your reading list or got nothin' else to read. The story would have been more beautiful if it were given more chapters for everything to adapt.
