Description
From Deux:
Five short stories which take place in the artistic worlds of dance, painting and music, the overall theme being a dichotomy of hope and despair as well as passion and anguish. In the title story, devastated by the death of his world famous dancer mother, Theo Galland abandons his own dancing career to become a Hollywood actor and meets the famous Hollywood actor Daren Ferguson. What should have been a joking kiss shared between them takes a sudden turn, however, when Daren asks “So what comes next?” Theo answers “That depends on the scenario.” As lustful passions boil over, will Theo be able to regain the fire that he once possessed and return to the dancing world?

Beautiful and adult by daniyagami on August 29th, 2009, 8:51am

I loved this book. I agreed that the translation of the last story sounded unnatural and I personally had prefer regular english and not the strange "dialect effect" that the translator tried. My fav story is the first one about a ballet dancer and an actor but I enjoyed the other stories as well. What I most liked is the fact that the stories are mature and not the conventional "uke-seme" yaoi. The art is exquisite and different, maybe looks strange at first but is definitely a great complement to the stories.

Josei it is. by yblees on March 3rd, 2009, 1:07am

I agree with Voraciouszest's comment. This is a perfect blend of josei and BL. Each of the 6 short stories is a snapshot of a moment in a relationship between two people. Readers will either love it, or they simply won't "get" the stories at all!

The translation by self confessed fan, Matt Thorn, for Deux (Aurora Publishing) is excellent, although possibly somewhat heavy handed with the pseudo "dialect" in the last story. If these stories were prose, they would win awards for literary writing. As they are - you get the bonus of the mangaka's distinctive artwork to go complement these lovely stories. Highly recommended.

Poetic and Angsty by voraciouszest on October 1st, 2008, 5:01pm

Seduce Me After the Show is of a different standard than most yaoi titles. The stories are poetic and angsty. They portray a different and more realistic view of homosexuality for men of this era. The stories range from a dancer and his Hollywood lover to a man in search of the lover he hasn't seen for forty years.
Be aware, though, that the stories tend to end right in the middle or have no real conclusion. The art is unique, but a little heavy.
