Three boys in junior-high who cross-dress because of differing reasons meet each other through a cross-dressing community website, and decide to meet up in real life. "Parou" started cross-dressing because he wanted to attract a heterosexual boy he liked. "Marika" is transgender and identifies as female. Lastly, "Yui" is an antagonistic boy who adopted the persona of his older sister after her death. In contrast to Parou and Marika, Yui is sorely disappointed at the meeting.

I was expecting something filled with fan service (seinen + gender bender), but a surprise here - it's quite a serious story. Still fun and cute, though. I love how the art reminds me of old shounen-ai manga like Kaze to Ki no Uta or Boku Patalliro!! (see the youngest boy's fantasies about being a princess).

The manga is pretty fresh in my opinion, free of cliches. Can't wait to read the 2nd volume.

edit; after reading the 2nd volume I updated my rating from 9 to 10. I love this manga.

I actually really liked this manga. It gave me a new perspective. I liked how instead of being three gigantic cliches, they had their own stories and legit reasons for being the way they are. I think it's refreshing and the art isn't bad either.

I know that manga's sole purpose is for entertainment, but Boku no Hentai provides so much gender theory analysis that I have never seen in any other manga. It starts off with an exploration of gender identity between the three male protagonists, as they seek support for their gender-bending activities and seek comfort in performing "abnormal" gender behaviors. Additionally, the BEAUTIFUL Art wonderfully illustrates their inner turmoil and supplements the psychological understanding of their journeys. I cannot recommend this manga enough -- it's a captivating story and really enlightens you on their story of exploration and acceptance.

I thought I wrote a review for this but I guess not. I recall being disinterested from reading the summary and title, but decided to give the series a try since it was tagged genderbender and shounen ai. So glad that I did.
Plus points:
-Gives Hourou Musuko vibes story/character/art wise (positively)
-Refreshing unpredictable story
-Character interaction/development (it's slow but it's there)
-No fanservice
-It's not hentai lol
-The scanlators are amazingly fast once they get the vol raws

-Took awhile for the characters to grow on me
-Compared to many other series, not much happens in each chapter. The story moves slowly but you really don't notice it if you're reading them by volumes
-Craving for the next volume to be released once caught up
