Description
From Tokyopop: Anya, the new girl at Lucrece High, just isn't fitting in. Her dream is to join one of the school's elite sports teams, but when she tries out, she's instantly rejected! Anya doesn't get mad, though--she gets even. When she meets other "misfits" who've been similarly written off, they form their own soccer team, complete with cool, edgy uniforms. They may not be the most experienced, but they've got something no other team has: style. Say hello to the world's first gothic-lolita soccer team!
Only by accident i came to this manga again. I'm from a soccer country and it just feels so wrong to see the sport getting so ridiculed in an attempt to be serious. The attires, the players, i just wished the mangaka could do a proper research. Because one thing is stuff like Tsubasa, regular soccer, another is Inazuma Eleven, crazy stuff and just way over the top silly but engaging at least, and then there's this. Shortage of players, disregard about the rules, injuries and whatnot. The art is good, but at the same time i had dificulties knowing who was who because they looked so similar and had no distinguishing traits. I mean they hardly even knew the rules for god's sake! It was a terrible disapointment, not even the characters could save it for me.
This is bad... omg, the only way I can read this is if I force myself. The story sucks, the teenager is so typical I'd like to shoot her, characters and story are 2D, predictable and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I don't usually come across stuff this bad.
i don´t really like german manga because the mangaka here aren´t very skilled in drawing. This manga is also one of the few with a good story, but still i want someone to teach german mangaka how to draw a manga properly
A very interesting concept that I'm glad to have run into. It doesn't knock me off my chair, but it definitely leaves me craving for more. Loads of a fun read
I stumbled over the first volume in the library and liked it. After that I bought volumes 1-3 and don't regret it. While the manga isn't great, the art style, the story and the characters are refreshing -- which isn't that surprising when you find out that the mangaka is from Germany. But that also means that the flair isn't quite the same as with other manga. It's still worth a try and I'll definitely buy the following volumes! Note: While this is a sports manga, the sport part isn't that big and the soccer rules are taken somewhat lax. It's more about the different characters and their interactions.
