Yummy bishies make it worth a cursory glance

I've passed over this particular work more than a couple of times because I wasn't particularly impressed by the cover art. I'm a huge whore for Nanami's bishonens, but the sparkly effeminate uke on the cover was a huge turn off. Well, I got bored one day and decided to give it a go after seeing that it was a one-shot collection and I could easily bypass the girly uke story on the cover.

The first three chapters feature the cover couple and they're really just the gag/comedy couple. It's a shame that she wasted three chapters on them because the second story is my favorite so far and I wished she had devoted more time to it.

Also, not sure why Nanami went through the trouble of convincing us and the seme that he was gay and then having him deny it all the way until the end. Yaoi tends to prefer the "gay for you" route a majority of the time anyway, but I don't think it would have hurt to have the character own up to it.

The second story Clumsy Love reminds me a lot of Yugi Yamada's Taiyou no Shita de Warae where the somber and brooding friend falls in love with his carefree playboy friend. Somber friend puts up with the selfish behavior of his crush because he loves him. I preferred this one a little more simply because the uke does come to regret his terrible behavior, but this is a case where a whole volume could have gone to developing the angst and the subsequent realization between the two. Agh, so much untapped potential here.

Most definitely worth the read if for the second story alone. I wish Nanami was a little bit more prolific because I really do love her style. Guess I'll update until it's been fully scanlated.
