Description

Natsuki, an otaku high-school girl who'd rather spend her money on manga than pretty dresses, accidentally injures a creepy-looking mangaka named Kiritani Taichi. To repay him, she agrees to be his character model until he fully heals. Kiritani turns out to be a popular shoujo mangaka under the name Ichijou Kiriko, who is also Natsuki’s favorite author! Plus, underneath that disheveled hair Kiritani is actually a good-looking man! What will become of these two?

Overall, I think this is a light and cute short read - pretty standard shoujo fare but written well enough that I felt fluffy on the inside reading the cute parts ☺️
I did worry about the whole she’s a high schooler and he’s an adult dynamic, but it seemed that he was aware of that and planning to wait for her to graduate. I actually thought he saw her as a kid sister / too young to consider romantically most of the time, but it seems the author maybe added as an afterthought that he
Other people said she fell in love super fast (which, considering the length of this would still be understandable I think). But even though we know about her falling for him early in the story I think she spent a lot of time with him that was just time skipped where she fell for him even when he was kind of disheveled and unshaven.
I think I my favorite parts were the fluffy parts towards the end - it was a cute, short light read! ☺️

actually liked her from when he first saw her because was crying over what he wrote, and was waiting for her to graduate to do anything more than platonic

Even so, just considering this as a light read and not taking it too seriously, I thought their moments together were adorable (male lead simultaneously occasionally has pervy thoughts but is actually super innocent and bashful). Yeah, that's all I can say. It's not too good, and it's not bad. I found it rather awkward how she falls in love with him so soon.
The story doesn't seem to have much depth. If this was longer, and had proper character development, maybe you could call it a good shoujo. But it seemed like the author basically wanted to finish it off and hurried with the falling in love thing.
Maybe the others see him as a naive guy, but somehow it seemed weird to me. But I still consider it a fine short read.

I mean.... He says he sees her as a father sees his daughter, and then when she confessed, after a couple of page he just blushes and comes to the 'this girl is mine' drama again.

Recently i hve been drawn to a school life kind a plot(maybe becos i miss my school day)haha...n this story its the 1st time i wish it really happen to me..its so cute n innocent...but its still doesnt make sense if a man like that still new in a relationship if he that good looking...in real life we will label that as gay...hahaha...but afterall this is just a manga..it will hardly become true in real life...duh...

Awesome manga! I wasn't really expecting much because it sounds so cliche, but I was pleasantly surprised! I could NOT stop smiling, and I even giggled a few times. I'm so used to shoujo that I'm desensitized to most cuteness, so rest assured that I do not giggle often. Just goes to show how much I really loved this.

in the very beggining, when i saw the cover of this manga i was like 'who the heck is that guy'
IT WAS ACTUALLY THE PEVERTED OLD MAN
he looked really cute and hot when he shaved ;D
i just love relationships where they always quarrel and fight ^^
Kiritani & Natsuki's fights were the best

I loved it. It was nice to see such an innocent male lead (at his age !!!) lol. Kiritani was a pervert, and completely adorable. His actions concerning Natsuki are just freaking cute. I suggest this manga to anyone who loves adorable, innocent, and weird male leads.
The first thing that got me interested was the artwork! I love the drawing style, its cute but not too cutesy. The next was the manga description, as I enjoy reading about an otaku girl! 
I thought it was going to be somewhat similar to Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to, because of the "creepy mangaka working with a cute girl" kind of theme but it's different since it focuses more on the actual character developments and their relationship and less on actually getting a manga done.
I do agree with Akai.no.sora about the manga being really fast paced and the "shoujo cliches" as LaLaLinzo mentioned, but I reallly love the story! If only it was expanded to be a couple chapters or a whole volume longer!
I would recommended reading Houkago x Ponytail to anyone who loves a cute and innocent relationship! ^_^

One thing that caught my eye instantly was the art. I really liked the style the mangaka had going on haha. However, the pacing was too fast. Way too many things happened in two chapters. She barely even met the guy and she falls in love with him. It makes her appear very shallow since it was his face that got her in the end. Also, I think the mangaka should develop her main characters before she introduces a love rival. There are too many things going on. Despite that, it could potentially be an okay read.
