Maybe I'm really biased about this manga... but I'm of the opinion
art: 7.5
Well, the best thing about this title, thats for sure... the girls character design is pretty and the few swords portrayed are well drawn, but everything else, is too bland, or rather standard, and the swordfights aren´t that inspired either. I think I saw the main character design somewhere else already... Maybe, if you pair it with Akaboshi-sensei portrayal of Infinite Stratos...
story: 3.5
The novel was allowed a total of 12 volumes and the manga did a rushed work too adapt only first one, so it's should be a given that's where my reasoning is really unfair... but, the first thing about the 'Japan losing to an alien race and having to reform their ways' plot that comes to mind is Gintama. Maybe I set the bar too high but if you think about it, the protagonist is someone that faced tragedy early cause of the war, and was saved by a mysterious master that was in a league of his/her own and received everything from this master, even his life in order to survive... Nowadays his only concrete objective is to protect this life and live through it as easy as he can...with his rather goof acquitances, each with their own personal tragedies to bear... the fact that his name is Kurou even makes a contrast with Shiroyasha! Ymmv...
characters: 4
MC Kurou, is the Gintoki ripoff that I commented above... Hina and Sefi are so standard that it makes them OK, and not worth much comment... Lars tries to keep a too powerful of a lancer profile, but don´t does a good job being relevant... and Manaka with her strange relationship of love (seniority) and hate (misunderstanding) with the MC, makes painful obvious that she was that dull of an antagonist... And besides them there that one armed lady, the Sword Saint Hyouka, with hints of Shouyou (see above), Igneel (misterious disappearance) and Avan (the mark thing) and the Nena one... that I can´t really explain my dislike of her except that she reeks of the likes of Komatsu, Akashi Tagiru and Equuleus no Subaru... The Blaze/Kuruta-zoku reference wasn´t really a good helping in their case...
... the more I keep writing the more faults I find within this series... So let's end this here...
Até mais ver

To be honest, I can't believe I completed this crap. The story's execution, characters, and plot were terrible in every aspect. While the art style is very cutesy, you can tell from the lack of detail in the panels that this series was lazily drawn. Your only reason for reading this should be to screencapture that hilarious panel that says "Swordians, the Race of Swords".

Actually the story is quite decent the only problem is that they release this manga along with others like Seirei no Blade Dance, Absolute Duo, Baroque K/Night, Cross x Regalia,Magika no Kenshi to Shoukan Maou,Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan and Valkyria Nainen Kikan. they release them in the same day same time. so people will probably get bored. they should have release this some other time. too many same Genre. only few people will probably Appreciate this.
about people below me. they're only rating this bad because they already read too much HAREM OVERPOWERED MC already. people are getting sick of it that's why they rate this low. but this is actually a quite decent manga.

Too much chatter and fan service. The plot is pretty standard and, unfortunately, the storytelling is kind of bland. I also felt like the whole the manga was a summary of key points(which were unbelievably cliche). The characters are all too simple(even the ''secret'' antagonists) Didn't read the novel, but thanks to this ''work'', don't intend to.

What does this manga do that at least five other ones don't? A typical harem manga with a typical setting and a typical protagonist. At the very least just do ONE thing different and I can consider it acceptable.

It might be hasty to pan a series so soon, but this just lacks any potential. What an obnoxious first chapter... It took me 10 pages to lose any faith on this, and it goes downhill. Everything, from the setting and characters to the attempts at humor and romance, sucks. Here's light-novel based manga at its worst.
