Not as great as I once thought. 5 years later I come back to this page and cannot remember the story even after reading the summary provided. You may think 5 years is a long time to remember something or that the story is too short but there are plenty of short manga that made an impact on me 10-5 years ago and I can still remember them very well. This is not one of them. Lighthearted and a fun read but also somewhat boring and unmemorable.

Beast Master is a short manga that still manages to pack in a lot of charm and a couple of interesting characters. Leo in particular is great, the guy feels like a unique love interest while still keeping a lot of those elements that make up a shoujo hero. While Yuiko isn't as interesting, I do like the fact that she's not some completely passive loser, she fights for what she wants too. The artwork is also consistently good across the title, I was never once confused about what was going on.

The story is one of the only faults I can give this story, and that's only because there's not much conflict. The story certainly tries to add some near the end but it really does feel tacked on for the sake up wrapping up the story. I just feel like if there had been a better focused source of drama added into the story it might have been a little more engaging. Or at least a conflict that allowed for a little more emotion, I hardly felt anything reading this comic other than happiness that the couple ended up together. Which is fine, but it just came across as a bit... turn off your brain at times.

I really do think this is a fine story even if it is a little too lighthearted to really deliver much emotion. Plus it's real short so it's not going to take you much time anyhow.

it's interesting in the beginning but, i in the middle story make me little boring. so i unfinished read this manga. sorry to say.
the story is strong, but the detail it's annoying sometimes .
and it similar to inuyasha i think, but i like inuyasha more better than these, if you wanna read some honest men and behavior (like a dog) who need the girl main character to guide him to be more mature person.
when the guy is protecting the girl form dangerous.

I will always love this manga. The characters are cute, the plot is great (equal parts funny and dramatic), and it's one you can read over and over again and still not get tired of the art or the love story. 😀

Pretty chill

The story moved smoothly. I would have liked to have seen maybe more romance?! But it wasn't all that bad. The first short story I could have done without reading. The second was heartfelt😝. Artistry overall was almost nice besides the buttocks lips lol. 😁

starts with a girl that overly loves animals to the point that they hate her. Then she meets this scary animalistic guy that the animals love! And she starts to care and take care of him. Slowly they fall for each other while going through violent hardships. Then as his past is unlocked he starts to get targeted and so does she. (Wish there was more to his background story). His dad comes back to take him away. She then admits her feelings too late. But of course he never left her. Loyal lion to the end.
Fly: was a boring sappy story of this girl getting pushed by her brother to become a nurse. When she wants to be a pilot. Her crush then persuades her to see some rainbow to make sure she becomes a pilot instead. She the. Does and the story ends.
Cactus Summer Surprise: this is a fun story about two rivals that secretly like each other. The guy gets a body swap with a ghost in the cactus. And they end up setting out on a emotional journey. The end is unclear but it's obvious they live each other.

Dang, i put this manga on standby for so long cause I thought it's gonna be some weird animal-human relationship and the art didn't really attracted me to read, well it turned out not so and even better than I expected it to be, I regret not reading it sooner. Every chapter made me had that thumping feeling, I liked the characters, I liked how every chapter run, I love everything and the art was ok, I don't dislike it at all, I was comfortable with it. I also liked how the girl reacted to every situation is very much different to most female leads in shoujo mangas, she thinks rationally and logically, not some naive airhead or something like that ^-^ so I'm happy this is one of the 'out of the ordinary' types ^_^ Beast Master I doubt it at first but surprisingly it's one of the best mangas I've ever read. Now I understand why it gets such high ratings. 🙂

I wasn't expecting much from this manga but I was surprised. It was sweet and heart-warming. I wish it was a little bit longer. ^^
Also the art is nice and I like the sidestory about the cactus. It's unique and interesting.
This is definitely a must read!

When searching for my next read, this was at the top of the list. I always had second thoughts about it, but I finally picked it up and read. So different from what I imagined. The male lead is so...cute; yes, cute. Like a newborn puppy covered in mud; you just have to wipe it away and he's there; I'm probably not the best at comparing stuff :/ I remember there was a friend? Butler? Of the male lead's; well, he's nice and sunny (from what I remember).

Don't let the cover second guess it; it's a good read.

One of those random mangas I picked out of a listing and it turned out to be pretty good. Funny, touching, cute, a bit sad, and overall enjoyable. I like the characters, especially Yuiko, she was brilliant. Leo was also naively adorable and that made him truly likable too. A short, nicely-paced read. Wish it was a little longer, if only because I want to see what it's like for them to go on dates and such. But, besides my wants, it was great.

Funny and touching

This was so, so cute! I regret putting this on hold for so long just because Motomi Kyousuke's art isn't really my style, because this is a really adorable and compelling story that never forgets to balance it out with hilarious moments. For something that lasted a mere 7 chapters, Yuiko and Leo's story is remarkably well-developed. I'm particularly fond of Leo and wish there are more male protagonists like him - he's honest, extremely affectionate and would do anything for Yuiko. It's a great offset for the "cold, rude jerk with a heart of gold" type that permeates shoujo manga.

Special mention also goes to the oneshot in Volume 02, "Cactus Summer Surprise," which was definitely a pleasant surprise. Its light-hearted synopsis (I mean, the hero gets stuck in the form of a cactus!) hides what was a really touching story.
