From Endless Abyss:

This is the story of a very smart student called Hirama Ren who is used to always getting the top results in his school, and is the chairman of the student's council. One day, he walks past a group of bullies and asks them to leave--and because of that, they decide to teach him a lesson. They decide to beat up a couple of guys and they reported it to the teachers, blaming him.

Hirama becomes enraged by it and so he decides to attain some power that could allow him to change the world to a world that he wanted; one without such pathetic people.

Coincidentally, his vice-chairperson called him and asked if he was fine with her inviting a hypnotist for some event at school to hype up the school population. Thinking that the ability of hypnotism is just what he was looking for, he agrees to it. During the "trial" test of the hypnotist's ability, he set up some plan and later on used it to test if hypnosis was able to hypnotise people who were avoiding it. With his new found knowledge, how will Hirama use this new power to reshape the world?

Cheap immitation
Rating: 5.0 / 10.0

If it was a pure shounen manga we were talking about (action like Naruto, sports like Wild Hearts) it would have been easy to imitate, change few things and capture audience by so-called new story.
However, as a psychological/thriller type of manga, cheap imitation won't get you anywhere. it is so much like death note (genius student, sick of the world, wants to make his own utopia, has special powers, etc.). And I wish the idea was so cool, but hypnotize? Come on...
Over all.. if you don't mind reading something similar to death note, then go for it, otherwise spare yourself going through several chapters & being disappointed at the end.

I am always a big fan of Death Note style series because these series are actually the voice of a lot of people in the world. This story doesn't have any collision with Death Note and has a great plot of its own. We know one more way to change the world!

At first I was interested in the series when I first saw a couple of pages for ch01. Then as I read on and read the summary, the eerily similar plot just made my brows twitch. Not just that, the character looks like Light/Kira too! Reading the first chapter didn't convince me enough about this series... Maybe if it was a different setting and motive or goal, it might have been different. Now, it just reminds me too much of DN.

this manga is clearly a copy of death note. the difference is it's not as smart as death note. and that guy...i don't have any idea what part of him is smart. his way of thinking is like.....

Awesome..... with a major flaw

its awesome since i too think like hiyama, this world is full of trash, i ought to create my utopia, but i will do it slowly and take my time to immortalize myself. Upon immortal, i can create my utopia and it wont fall like all those civilzations because teh immortal me will be teh one who will always rule over you all..... (thats my dream)

the major flaw of the manga for me is hypnotize -.-...... hypnotizin does not make much of a difference.... and its not like a super good thing.... so pretty much... i dont like that hypnotize thing -.-

and as you people who say this is a copy of death note and code geass..... i can tell you, it surely have the same psychological aspect of creatin an utopia, but on the other hand, their utopian society are different [death note = light just want to kill off the bad guys..... and clean off the evil... kinda... u know.... not really like selfish..., code geass = zero is tryin to create a utopia where everyone can live happily (or maybe his sister)... , on the other hand, lost+brain is like hes tryin to create a utopia for himself, for self pleasure, in short, selfishness....(i am too, tho it might just be a dream...) and to tell you this, i think code breaker is more of similar to death note than this... ] Thus, lost brain is not a copy of death note and code geass, but you know... i only read 2 chapters so far, so i cant predict what might happen in the future..... anyways...... that hypnotize thing sucks (why? because you need to prepare alot of things just to hypnotize someone...)

This series falls into the same category with Death Note.. But I liked Death Note better - why? At the beginning, Light actually has some pure beliefs that he is cleansing the world. He is innocent. But in Lost+Brain, the hero immediately looks and acts like Light in later volumes, with the cold killer aurora. And I don't really like the idea of hypnotism. Unless this series can carve a name for itself, I am displeased with it so far.

...I do like smart series, but I don't think it's smart to copy other series. This one big copy of Death Note and Code Geass.
The art isn't bad, though.

Well, if you liked Death Note and Code Geass, then you`ll probably like this one. About a genius student who`s tired of the world and wants to change it (DN). Then he learned hypnotism, and used it to control, etc. people (CG). Well, so far, so good. We`ll see how it will develop.

I read most of the first chapter and I didn't like it. =/ It resembles Death Note too much and a few of the panels looked exactly like some panels in Death Note. The art wasn't exactly nice either. D: But that's just my opinion.
