Ignoring the "Let's cure Kei's homosexuality" aspect (which I admit, I do not like either), the overall manga is decent. The characters are upbeat and interactive. The manga is, like the user below commented, lacking a firm plot line other than the homosexuality part and making sure no one finds out the protagonist's gender. That can be good or bad depending on your tastes; for me, it makes it enjoyable but it can get dull if it continues on like this.

Lacking Focus

I just find that there is a serious lack of focus on the story line.. it's one thing after another without a buildup of events. It started out fine and interesting - but the fun just ends there.. thereafter it's one random event and the next.. I don't see how the story can progress.. I just seriously hope that things will develop better in the future..

I can't believe people take everything so seriously around here, no one other than her mom said that she is sick for being gay and you don't know yet how is gonna end up.
But what i do know so far is that this is one of the funniest mangas i've read in a long time, and also the heroine doesn't annoy me which is always a plus.
If you're looking to enjoy and have fun this is the manga you are looking for.

People are being much too serious, what matters is that this manga is very entertaining and really does live up to it's - COMEDY genre, unlike many of the other mangas that fall under that category but end up disgracing the very name.

If you're reading manga then this is something that you must read - period.

I love the art it's cute, but I could go without the barfing and puking. This manga is pretty funny i guess. It made me laugh a couple of times and I'm really picky about comedy manga, but not much.

Wow. Some people are really getting worked up over Kei...I don't really mind her (then again I'm not gay and I'm basically neutral in the gay rights argument). It's hilarious and that makes it at least a 5 in my book. I'll also give it points for art. The plot's alright. I think there's a deeper reason to her lesbianism than just guy-aversion. I think something might have happened to her...but that's just me. It's interesting enough to keep reading, so I'll give this an 8.

That's only for now though! My opinion is still forming. Like many others, I have to see how this develops before I make final judgement.

To all you gay advocates hissing at this series, don't be so pessimistic. If she DOES fall for a guy, it doesn't necessarily mean she has to give up her preference for girls. There is such a thing as people who swing both ways. You people are the rigid hard-heads out there, thinking someone has to be one or the other.

She'll most likely fall for some guy, seeing that the series is marked romance, but not shojo ai(or something like that)...
At least that's what I think, anyway..

Two chapters don't really strike me as "funny". Though I'll wait with judgement until I read full first volume. But you know, if it'll not change in the slightest, or more, will have main heroine hook up with a guy, it'd make some very disturbing implications. Like "use of "shock therapy", psychological torture and Stockholm syndrome can "cure" homosexuals". Not really nice message, if you ask me.

I laughed so hard at the first chapter. And as for the mother, she is pretty narrow minded, but I view her as a plot device. I mean, the mangaka has to have a reason to throw her heroine into an all boy's school instead of the reasons that are already being used, to make this manga stand out more. It also eliminates the need of the normal circumstances that normally happen in these "Girl pretends to be boy in all boy's school" manga, such as the parent/sibling coming over to check in and then get enraged and surprised, the hero being in shock that the heroine is actually a girl, etc.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
But it doesn't mean that the mother isn't in the wrong or anything, or is it all her fault. The idea to enroll Kei into the school was Yui. But yes, it's the mother's fault that she agreed to it.

Also note that Japan's acceptance of homosexuality can be negative. And same sex marriages aren't allowed there. [offtopic] Not that I have anything against being gay. Hey, if you're gay, it's okay. [/offtopic] But this is a manga I'm most likely going to remember, not like those shoujos that irritate me so much with excessive whining and running away. At least the heroine is facing her problem. This is just the first chapter though.

Personally, I don't really care about all that homosexuality 'controversy'. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm support gay rights and etc. But this is just MANGA and I just want to enjoy it without all those things interfering. I also can't help but suspect that her being a lesbian is kinda just to parody other genderbenders-1 girl- boy's school type of stories.

But I digress.

Anyway back to about this series, as a genderbender , I think this is a very good and funny portrayal. I like how this is kinda a parody with the way it makes fun of older genderbenders (where a girl forced to go to an all boy's school) and the logical reactions the characters have. I also like how the main character actually looks like a male bishounen and is totally into girls, as well as her interactions with all the other strange and wacky (can I say YANDERE? XD) characters, which all makes series way more fun.
Overall, a very good read.

(in fact, you can kinda see this as a straight-version of [m]Mariaholic[/m] at a boy's school, albeit the main character is still a lesbian. XD )
