I completelly love Genshiken, every character is great and unique and I love how they portray the otaku in each and all.
A must read, a must have and a must known...Genshiken is unique and lovable.

To Each His/Her Own

After all the escapisms that we've sought from the other mangas that we've read, a slice of life really isn't that bad even though some of our lives, which some people voluntarily admit, aren't that interesting. Well, that isn't entirely true for there's always something interesting in everyone's life and there's also those who find interest in them.

Now we are given a group of characters that obviously has a world of their own. A group with a variety of characters that we can relate to in some ways than one. Hesitations, acceptance, being true to one's self.

Genshiken was a fun read for me. Characters all supported each other. Setting was not all varied but enough to establish their identities. And what could be a more fitting conflict for each character to undergo but their daily confrontation with reality?

I read this because I couldn't wait for the anime to finish in time and then it left out much. Well the story is nothing to write home about, the ending is somewhat predictable, relationships and so on.. But it is a lot of fun reading.

Simply awesome. Great coming to age series. Though sometimes I felt they where too hardcore, but it's all good. Little bits of romance where nice too.

of otakus! Can it get any better xD. I enjoyed every chapter of this series, smiling inwardly during its humors and references The ending wasn't too bad either. Not too long as well. A firm 10 in my books.

If you aren't so called "otaku" (geek), don't even bother. The artwork is pretty good, but the story is something I could care less about.

A great series, but it'll only be appealing to some people. Fans with merely a passing interest in manga/anime, gtfo. This is not for you. In fact, people who aren't fans of slice of life, gtfo. You've got no business writing a review when you dislike the genre. Not everyone needs a series where the main character saves the world fourteen times in as many volumes.

Kio Shimoku wins. Hopefully we'll be seeing more from him/her after Genshiken.
