Description
Haru visits Canada to spend the summer holidays in the woodland house of his strict, strong-willed mother, Haruko. There, she burdens him with the responsibility of caring for his younger adoptive brother - a wild and unruly little boy named Ren who trusts no-one and prefers to wander in the woods with Haruko's dogs rather than associate other people. Haruko orders Haru to 'civilize' Ren. As the young man strives to teach Ren how to live in human society, their relationship gradually improves - so much so that Haru plans on taking his 'little brother' to Japan with him once he finds a job. ...

great story

I find this story very well done. It's not like other yaoi stories where the uke and seme just jump straight to sex, it actually takes it's time to develop the characters. I find the characters very unique. The art work is beautiful, as expected of Abe Miyuki sensei. this is not a shotacon or pedophile because Rin is still growing. the only problem i have with this is the slow updates. overall, i think it is one of the best yaoi/shounen ai story there is.

Like everyone else said, it started out quite promising. I started the first chapter years ago and it really made me believe this was going to be close to la masterpiece or something, so I saved it for later(I tend to do that for some reason)... but wow this was quite disappointing now that I've actually read it. Just combination of all the story flaws is really unfortunate, the story goes no where, the characters really need some more dimension to make the premise more relatable, but instead the reader gets alienated and is left to believe that this is simply pedophilia. Another problem is just
... the storytelling is not very engaging in my opinion. I have read much dumber stories without struggling to pay attention.... Its just very unfortunate because the situation and cast is pretty great, if only they could have been used to their potentisl.

Romanticizes Grooming Step-Brother Incest

The relationship in this series makes me really uncomfortable. It's basically a how to guide on grooming, and the occasional side characters saying that their relationship is messed up doesn't change anything when the narrative continues to romanticize the leads' relationship. Plus, the graphic sex scenes with a minor make me especially uncomfortable. I will not be reading more of this manga. And the art being gorgeous isn't going to make up for everything that's wrong with this series.

This manga is quite shallow. A very light read and not bad, but it's not good enough to have such high rating. It's normal and nothing special or unique really happens. I tried to read it until chapter 18 and I can't take it anymore. Very boring.
So bad...

I tried to read this twice already and I always gave up. I really don't understand how come this receives such great ratings. I would say the first 5 chapters are good enough, and the very beginning, while they're still in Canada, quite promising -- I love the rural ambiance. However, after a while the plot seems to drag nowhere, the characters are flawed in a very inartistic way, and the art quality decreases significantly. And I don't get the love everyone's talking about either. I accept the age gap, even though the kid looks way too small for his age, but the fact is both Haru and Ren were not developed at all. It's such a shallow relationship it becomes annoying and even disturbing after a while. And the rest of the cast is just as bad. They absolutely don't care about what's going on between the two, they are so benevolent it's annoying. Ugh, I can't even think straight anymore. It's just so bad, all of it.

I agree with OmNom. The beginning was so promising! I really enjoyed it (although the huge age gap made me uncomfortable, although I do sometimes read shotacon). But as the story "progressed," I really began to dislike it.
I suggest only reading the first 5 chapters.

This manga is heading almost exactly towards the direction where Junjou Romantica's title story was. The start is promising I don't deny, but once the fluff wears off the naked truth remains, exposing the repetitive cycle that keeps going on and on forever to such an annoying degree one just can't take it anymore. Character growth? Development? Seriously, people, what have you been reading? The best asset that the series offers could only be the pleasing-on-the-eye art unlike its familiar friend Junjou Romantica. But even that couldn't save the whole thing from going downhill steadily and reducing to nothing but a train wreck. I'm just more than eager waiting for this manga to end so that I could finally add it to my complete list and move on with my life. My rating might be too harsh but it's worth balancing the ratings out to make it more accurate. People overrate these types of mangas too much. Too much.

This started off really well, I have to say. In the beginning I really thought this was going to end up being something special. However as things have progressed, it's definitely become pretty average or even below average. The art is often very nice, I will give it that. Haru really, really comes off as a pedophile. He wants to touch Ren, but sees him as a child and doesn't want him to grow up. It's very uncomfortable for me to read, personally. I would enjoy this much more if Ren didn't look so young. Sometimes we see something interesting, but for the most part, the most interesting parts of the story happen pretty early on. At this point it's mostly just Ren and Haru fight about something and then make up. Ren wants to grow up. Haru doesn't want him to. Rinse and repeat.

My favorite! Love it! I think its the art that caught my attention, then the growth of the charcters that kept it. I find myself rooting for Ren/Haru and I get super excited when I see the next chapter is out! I love the relationship between the two. Not really realistic but thats what makes it super cool. All in all it does what its supposed to do: takes me to another place for 10 minutes and emerses me in a really cool story!!! 9/10 for me!!
Awesome :)

Right now, Super Lovers is the best yaoi manga i´ve ever read.
At first i was a bit unsure because Ren and Haru have eight years apart, and Ren was or is still very young compared to Haru. But theres is something that makes this manga really addictive. I don´t know what but i just love it!! I´ve already read it four or five times, and i think i´m slowly becoming crazy
