Description

Shinjo Mayu's newest leading lady is an idol, and the leading man is... a future prime minister!? Just what is a "Love Celeb"? Nakazono Kirara is an aspiring starlet. She used to think she'd do whatever it took to get a starring role in a drama and have a CD. But her manager, Hanamaki, proves her wrong when he sends her into a room full of horny producers to sleep her way into a role! Kirara wants no part of it! She's a virgin, and these guys are scary!! Especially the silver-haired one named Gin... He seems to be in charge. But he lets Kirara leave the party with her virginity and his phone number, and it seems like nothing lost, nothing gained... until Kirara is suddenly the most famous new starlet for no apparent reason!?

Seriously, I only read this because the art was good.
The guys keep saying they love the girls but all they do is sex, and sex, and well pretty much sex... Its like the whole world is all about sex
I dont even get why the main character from Haou Airen was there.

only good from the manga is the art but the female protagonist don't get me started on how stupid and retarded Shinjo Mayu made her out to be...started on vol 1 to vol 3 then skipped to the end it was getting REALLY dumb a big disappointment for Shinjo Mayu

seriously it's not worth the time and effort you'll REGRET it i'm warning you or if it's your kind of manga then i'm wrong

It's bad. After reading some of her previous works, I have to say I don't know what I expected from this one. I think it was all hope that Shinjo Mayu-sensei would change her usual ways and... break out of her shell. Oh, boy, was I wrong.

I dropped this one faster than a hot potato for a few reasons:

1) The girl was just plain stupid. Think Haou Airen. Remember her? Yeah, they're competeing for the title of Most Stupid Protagonist Ever.

2) This manga scares any female wanting to go into show biz, period. (I have to use my body to make a song?! What?! Where did the talent searchers go~~)

3) Rape is so glorified in here it's sickening. Again, think Haou Airen in the beginning. If you catch my drift, you catch my drift.

4) I just wanted to slam my head into a brick wall. It irks me when the female protagonist wasn't ever noticed by any guy before, but when she dates main hot guy over here, man, the boys just start going insane! It's a palooza to see who can get her body first, no aftermath involved. And, of course, usually male saves her at the most crucial of moments, so no worries there.

Every thing else Hermit-chan, vampiremaddy, InLibrisLibertas and surabhi147 have gone over; in fact, I probably have gone the points they already listed, but if you haven't dropped / walked the other way at those few comments, I might as well break it down again.

You know something's wrong with it when more than 5 people are listing the same problems over and over again.

Gave it a 2 for the art, Shinjou Mayu-sensei does draw some hot characters and some okay-looking women; also, I fell in love with chibi Gin, he was insanely cute. =D

No seriously, I don't understand what was going through my mind when I picked this up and saw it through the last chapter!! What is wrong with me??

It was kinda amusing the whole Gin-Kirara thing (esp. Gin debating over why he was so obssessed with her) but then...it was pretty unrealistic how some characters just jumped out of nowhere and the manager was such an asshole...and the girl. Don't even get me started on Kirara...she's as dumb and dim-witted as they come, no redeeming value what so ever. And then the plot line which deteriorated with every passing chapter and the story became harder to believe. :rolls eyes:

But, yes, it did have few cute scenes and chibi Gin is SOOOO cute!!! biggrin That's the only reason I'm giving it a 3.

And, I agree with Hermit-chan, InLibrisLibertas and vampiremaddy whole heartedly. I'd have added their points in here but they've explained it well enough.

This manga is wonderful! Great art, Gin is so cool and cute. Kirara is hopeless yet strong.

There are so many funny scenes and also smutty ones which makes you go KYAAAAKYAAKYAAA!!!

NOTE: probably some spoilers ahead, but I don't know what the bbcode for that is; sorry e-e.

"Shinjo Mayu" is basically synonymous with "pointless smut" and I think we all knew that coming into Love Celeb, but she has reached a new low with this one.

Glorified rape and weak, naive (read: just plain stupid) heroines are her trademarks but in the end, everything usually pans out somewhat acceptably and that's probably the only reason she has any fans (or so I would hope, as the idea of girls buying into and truly enjoying this crap is too terrifying to even consider).

But I draw the line at the turn this story has most recently taken. Shinjo's females have never been wholesome or bright, but Kirara is basically whoring herself out to anyone who poses even a minimal threat to Gin, who she is supposed to "love." She doesn't stop to think of other ways out of the messes they get into; she simply opens her legs to solve every problem they face, trying to justify it by claiming it to be the only way.

Usually whenever one of Shinjo's heroines is faced with a rival male trying to stake his claim on her body, she makes at least some effort to refuse and resist but such is not the case with Love Celeb.

Kirara simply rolls over and lets any and every sex-crazed man have his way with her, and even goes so far as give her actual love (completely forsaking Gin, to whom it is supposed to belong) to someone she barely knows and who has been terrorizing her for as long as he's been present in the manga.

For as much role as she plays, she might as well not even be an actual character; she is truly nothing but a sexual object and the worst part is that she consciously made herself that way. Shinjo could've replaced her with a blowup doll and then at least this manga wouldn't be so insulting to anyone without a Y chromosome.

There are limits, and I hope this is something Shinjo will finally come to realize.

This manga is pretty poor. I really dislike the heroine, she may be slightly stronger than others but I'd prefer a different heroine, who seems more in keeping with Shinjo's traditional "blushing virgin" stereotype.
You can't mix the two characters together - it doesn't work. She has to go one way or the other.

Some of Shinjo's works are okay - I don't mind a little bit of it now and again, in small doses. Kaikan Phrase was rather sweet. But man, I've completely lost interest in this story...

Shinjo completely oversimplifies show business - the idea that anyone good looking and wealthy can get into politics and become prime minister is utterly ridiculous. Either she is partially retarded, or she doesn't give a damn about her blatant made-up fairytale land.

Hermit-chan's comment completely sums it up.
This manga is awful.

I didn't really like this manga.
The plot is kind of....Well stupid. No...more than stupid.
This manga just make it seem like all bishes are sex-crazed.
The Character wasn't interesting at all...looks the same..
It seems like this manga was just an excuse to draw those scenes.
..I don't recommend this manga to anyone.
That's just what I think, Sorry Shinjo Mayu fans.

I liked it nonetheless. You must realize that this is classic for this mangaka. She likes to have her lead female characters go through alot of crap to be with the man that they ultimately love. I agree with the comment below that Kirara has a stronger personality than some of Shinjo's other female characters. Though Kirara is still stupid and naive, she's alright. As for all of the male characters looking the same...so what?!?! They're all hot it shouldn't matter. I miss Hanamaki-san. I kinda felt bad for him. I hope he ends up with someone good. (Someone that can put up with him too...) Gin is too funny. I have to say I love him with black hair. I'm still waiting for him to surpass Sakuya in coolness...don't think that'll ever happen.

anyways, the main component of this manga is it's level of smut. I think this work has way more smut than any of her others thus far. It has it's stupid points but it also has a lot of cute quirky things about it too. (Like the whole Gin being a wolf and Kirara being the bunny. Lol it so fits them both.)

I don't think it deserves such negative comments, that's all.

wow surprisingly there are a lot of negative reviews .. gotta say not one of her best works, but i enjoyed it, i mean kirara does have a strong personality compared to the other heroines mayu-tan made
