Kyo Aizawa's father is a basketball devotee but has been forced to quit playing his precious sport because of an injury. Instead of himself working his way up to the NBA, he feels that Kyo, his daughter should fulfill his dream. To give Kyo a good start in her career of basketball he enrolls her in Seishu High School which is known for two things: its extremely cute girls' uniforms and their boys' basketball team. Not only does unhappy Kyo have to pretend to be a boy during the day (the basketball team members all live at the school to boost the team spirit), she has to do it day and night. The super-star of the team, Chiharu Eniwa, may be a good-looking, basketball champion, but his attitude towards Kyo is hostile from their very first meeting. Poor Kyo ends up roommates with the evil Chiharu. As they get to know one another, both sense that the other has a secret.
I remember the first time I read this... sorta. The second time, I really remember quite clearly. I was staying at a friend's house which was timber and sounds went through the walls quite easily. I was reading Volume 7 (the best out of them all, it's the one where the two protagonists are on the bed with one tying the other and their neighbour comes in with an S&M magazine) which is by far the best volume ever made. It was all nice and quiet along the suburban street until I came to the part about the S&M... their neighbours probably think there is an evil strangled laughing ghost residing in the house now.

When I way reading this, I was laughing the entire time. As others have said, it isn't really like hanakimi (which is GREAT manga btw) but it kept me laughing like no other manga i have read. Definately suggested!!!!
one of my all time favorites
i read this four years ago and i still think it is the only manga that could really make me laugh. it is so freakin' FUNNY. At school during silent reading time..when i read a funny part i tried to hold it in, and then when i turned the next page, i tried to keep quiet.. yet, as i read on i really really wanted to laugh my lungs out, scream, slap the table etc. but no..instead i sit there looking constipated. So if you read this at school don't read it during silent reading! otherwise you'll just have to put the book down

Power!! is very very funny. Seriously guys, please don't compare this with HanaKimi. They are very different!! Power!! is a comedy. Period. It doesn't try to be a mushy and dragging love story that it's not. Kyo is not your usual shoujo manga heroine. Heck, she doesn't even act like a girl!! Her antics never fail to make me laugh. I actually feel sorry for Chiharu for having her as a girlfriend. ^_^ Except for the serious part when that yuuya guy came in, I completely enjoyed reading this.
Haha. Hehe. Bwa-ah-ah-ah-ah-ha!!
Good for laughs, good for games. Cheers me up a great deal when reading this series. ^__^
this has nothing to do with hk xD! LOL in this I was like LMAO, hahahahaha xDDDDDDD! it was a part when the girl tried to seduce him, and then a guy enter to their room and looks like she's doing masochism in the guy hahahahaha the faces were awesome hahahahaha xD!!!
not that interesting..
I finished reading the manga but not satisfied with the ending and the plotting of the story. And the artwork was not that good, looks like they rushed doing it.
This is a must read
I love this manga. The artwork may not be that great but it compasate and overcompasate with humor, and LOTS of funny scenes and faces. I recomment this manga, it's a must read.
ermm isn't sad that ppl cant see a manga 4 a manga any more and they HAVE to COMPARE it to something ... im sure the mangaka wasn't like "hey we'll make it like hana kimi" that's like saying every gender bender that has to do with school is a hana kimi rip off grr just take it as it is POWER!!
so any way now that's over i really like this manga the art took some getting used to but over all it was FUN
i don't think it's fair to compare ggg and hk just because they have similarities in plot. i like both of them for different reasons, but this review is about ggg, not hk ;) i thought it was great, and one of my favorites.
