Two soldiers from warring countries are bound by a pledge as master and servant. Taki Reizen is a commander of sublime beauty, shouldering the fate of his nation. Called "Mad Dog" because of his rough temperament, Klaus von Wolfstadt has sworn his loyalty to him as a knight. Despite this, those around them are cold and disapproving, full of various misgivings. For all their genuine feelings, what will come of love made cruel by the violence of war?

First class, indeed
What a fine invention. We have a cute and small bishonen, a big and crude knight who must protect him at no cost, an obsessive and tempestuous passion between them and a war. It's nitroglycerine! The art is also beautiful. Strongly recommended.

Great story, wonderful art
I'm not really interested violent, forcing...stuffs (it's too heavy for me to read, I enjoy light comedy romance more), but MR is an exception. Although there are many sex scenes, but I didn't get bother by it. The plot is great, and the art is wonderful. This is one of the manga that you're can read out thinking about the genre (yaoi).
Well I just read it... I found it not for me. A war theme is new and it's sexy seeing those men in their uniforms.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
The rape scene....It was the graphic scene close to the end. Where he went all the way and there was blood everywhere after he was done. I was like @-@ holy crap that can't be healthy. The manga is a bit too S&M for me.
I can see how some might like it. So people can read it to see if they liked it or not. I have to admit the drawing were amazing.
Omake is soo freaken cute and funny, I LOVE THIS MANGA ITS SOO FREAKEN AWSOME!! XD
the omakes are hilarious <3 Chibi taki and klaus!!!
Trust me, you will come back for more
This is the only yaoi that i think everything is worth for it-- even though it is pricey and the DVD gosh... it's 100 bucks! but still, it is to die for. really good. as if my sempai(s) below me havent told you that. really, this is a whole now yaoi.

Mirage of Blaze, anyone ?
The art is gorgeous and the plot very interesting but somehow after a few pages , whenever I see Klaus my mind sparks "Naoe?" It might just be me but this serie reminds me A LOT of Mirage of Blaze...
Spoiler (highlight to view)
In MoB Naoe calls himself Kagetora dog , or rather a 'mad dog'.... This scene is even in the TV serie.....Klaus is always abusing Taki, the same goes for Naoe abusing Kagetora...... Naoe doesn't get to smex Kagetora all the time (THO HE REALLY REALLY WANTS TO but he never succeeds...) , he doesn't miss the chance to provoke and humiliates Kagetora. Taki also reminds me of Kagetora because of his position as leader serving as his comrades morale shield and they also share a few personality traits that I found really similar....
The story plot keeps me wanting to read more and more, it's very original - You don't get to see WAR in yaoi manga so often - that makes the serie even better as there IS a story even without the main characters, the background story keeps flowing. All in all a nice yaoi manga ^^

THE GREAT FUSANOSUKE-SENSEI PRESENTS!
fusanosuke sensei's art goes right up there with ayano yamane...the art is hott, the plot is deep, and you can't confuse any of the characters as girls....that's what i love about them...and fusanosuke-sensei, omg!!! what a wonderful story!!! you feel the drama, and it's not even like you just understand, you UNDERSTAND where people are coming from...it let's you go believing a character acts one way for one reason, but it's the complete opposite, and the way it flows is just perfect!! this story (and mangaka) are amazing!! so recommended!!! such a moving story...and did i mention hott?? wartime fun...even if you don't usually like that, you'd still find so much to love about this story, one of my all time favs!!! GO FUSANOSUKE!!!

SO GOOD!!!!! It makes me crave for more... The plot, the art, everything... Her art is so smexy... And there're no words to describe it... And i always love the omake kimonomimi on the back. So cute...
Inariya Fusanosuke brings yaoi to a different level. Her stories are disturbing, shocking, beautiful, intelligent. Her art is beautiful, her narrative powerful, the sexual tension mindblowing... I am glad to see that many people in this forum think the same.

what to say...
Just like Brilliant has said, Inariya brings yaoi to a whole new level that, in my opinion, can be compared to modern literature. The story is not only shockingly hot, but also full of angst and the smex illustrates a painful reflection of their current situation. You won't view sex as a mean to attract more audience, but will feel it is an essential part of the story, without which the characters would never be the same. MR is not an easy piece to read, but it's a must-read, for it's one of few yaoi that has not been written for the audience, but for yaoi itself.
