Description
A follow-up to a heavy response to the original yomi-kiri manga by the same title.

Good Ending follows the main character Utsumi's interactions with Kurokawa Yuki, a member of the school tennis team, in order for Utsumi to confess his feelings to the captain of the tennis team.

It is implied that the title of the manga is derived from the "good endings" that are achieved in visual novels.

Im very fond of this Manga, and although it's a common romance story, it's still a very good one in it's genre. Well the main char sure is indecisive but thats quite usual in romance mangas. Again, the story is great with much diversity in romance, drama and of course comedy. It's kind of realisitc (speaking in manga terms..) and the art is very decent.
Highly recommendes to everyone who is into this genre.

I love shounen romances!

... But this just annoys the hell out of me.

It started off with a lot of promise, then it treaded the path of a typical shounen romance which I didn't surprise me nor put me off; I do appreciate romance mangas. And yes, most of what I've read were unnecessarily protracted. So surely this should be a walk in the part, right?

But as it turns out, it's not. I really don't know why... I can excuse the weak and indecisive male lead (don't pretty much all shounen romances have that?). I can excuse the fillers (Pastel, anyone? I still eagerly look forward to every release). In theory, I should be able to swallow and enjoy this easily... But I can't. I don't know, maybe it's just that Sasuga Kei has a knack for getting on my nerves? Seriously, I go "ok, what now?" whenever I see Good Ending updated in my reading list (and the only other manga which makes me do the same is Bleach.) But this being her first work that I am aware of, I can't exactly confirm this. But yeah, I'll stick to that theory for now.

PS: To those who will go, "then freaking drop it already!" Sorry, this still hasn't met my criteria for dropping titles... which I very rarely do to begin with. So there, I still wait for each update with much pessimism.

PPS: And to those who will go, "you should be optimistic!" Well, I am a normally optimistic guy, but I've found that for this series it's better to be pessimistic then be pleasantly surprised than optimistic then utterly disappointed. Peace.

Fake charakter growth...

Even though the Manga started really nice and interesting I think it is rather frustrating then enoying. First I thought "hey he is learning and going to be mature and decisive at this point" but no, he's indecisively playing around with everyone and hugging people who are still in love with him even though he should be conscious that it's hurting everyone. Simply dissappointing - someone really needs to punch him in his face and show him how much damage he is causing due to his cowardly behaviour. (So much for character growth - he is as still almost as weak as in the start of chapter one..)

The story start out relatively ok, not crazy good but isn't too bad either. Things were developing nicely then for some reason the story line mostly turned into: guy does something stupid, girl gets angry, guy apologizing, both are back to normal, rinse and repeat. Really! that's all, the guy is lame, keep doing something stupid with another girl, then the girl he likes find out and get angry, then for whatever they would make up just for him to do something stupid again. CONCLUSION: this manga is very disappointing.

Worst manga ever read.

Being a realistic person, this manga is the worst manga I have ever read.
That is a statement.

First thing, about the character, the main male character is a gigantic tool. He is mentally weak, insensitive, dumbass, push-over. Just all the characteristic you ever see in an alpha-male is missing in his personality, and what we know? This kind of guy don't, won't ever have a girl friend. no matter how ugly she could have been.

About the story. I wonder who the author was targeting at. Was that middle school student? or it could be elementary school student. Story lack of anything special. And most lines the main guy said could be included in "cheesiest line of the century". So cheesy, so unrealistic.

Excuse my English. somehow this manga series managed to piss me off after reading only, like, 3 chapters. To the point that I would sign up for an account here and give it my review.

Bottom line: don't even think about trying it.

However the main character is a tool who has no idea who he likes. He was head over heels for his tennis senior but his friends just shoehorn him towards another girl(Kurokawa) all while another girl is making an earnest effort to get his attention.
Doesn't matter though, if you have half a brain then you'd know from the moment he was pushed towards liking Kurokawa she would be the final pick.

I can do nothing but laugh at most of the previous posters. Given recent events in the manga, it's fairly obvious (and was to many including myself the whole time) that all the stuff they were complaining about was simply setup and prelude to something much more dramatic. If anything this story is a very interesting mix of shoujo and shounen romance, and nowhere near your standard harem shounen fare, to say something of that nature is obvious ignorance of manga and storytelling in general.

Annoying

I feel like there is almost no progress made in this manga. The male lead keeps chasing one girl who keeps pushing him away with very little development between them after the 20 first chapters and the male lead is chased by a bunch of uninteresting, annoying girls that only seem to serve the purpose of taking up space from the female lead, to keep slowing down the progress, it only makes me frustrated to see some annoying girl in a restuarant instead of the leads together.

The biggest fail this manga could do would be a Kimi no Iru Machi turn, in that case it will be dead cause then its just the mangaka looking to extend the story for the worse.

Celianna hit the nail on the head with this one, what I wanted to say about this series. It's unfortunate, because the first couple of chapters was really interesting, and the first arc really felt real and not ridiculous situations piling up on each other that you see with shounen romances (see: Love Hina). It's really a shame, because the characters, the situations all were really well fleshed-out, but all of that gets thrown out the window after the reset button was pushed.

There's really no where but down from here, and instead of feeling like a series that's new and interesting, it feels like a rehashed version of your generic shounen romance. I hope for an end, preferably soon.
