the moment you read the begining you know she would end up with arata but the way the story progressed was really stupid all the twist and turn just made it irritating since most of the story was about takara and hikaru and in the end she still ended the up with arata

Cute story, but totally dissatisfying ending.
First things first, this is a nice shoujo manga with no shortage of lookalike (this time, purposely lookalike) bishies, and pretty artwork to look at. I don't think it's smutty, though- there's just some nudity, and it's a very far cry from Mayu Shinjo or even Minami Kanan's work. I like the fact that Hikaru has pink hair, too- perfect for an otaku . And at least through the first half or so (about two-thirds, I'd say) of the story, the characters are well likeable and Hikaru doesn't seem like a total shoujo pushover IMO.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
I seem to be one of the few people here who was actually rooting for Takara all through- his and Hikaru's romance was the most believably written part of the story- they had amazing chemistry, which I felt Arata and Hikaru rather lacked. I was so sad when they had to end it..for me, ArataxHikaru just lacked the intensity and sweetness of TakaraxHikaru, more so since Hikaru kind of became a total limp dishrag after ending it with Takara (kind of believable, since she's a girl with a broken heart, but falling for another guy so fast...nah, doesn't sound credible to me). And I don't feel Takara acted like a jerk, he did what he felt was right (ie give Hikaru up, even if it tore him up inside- and it did), and SHE was the one who asked to have that night together. Which, incidentally, nearly made me cry- the end, where he tells her he loves her, was heartbreaking.
Truthfully, I didn't really like the fact that she ends up with Arata- something about Arata's bad-boy reformation just didn't really work for me. He turned into a complete wimp by the end, IMO (mad amounts of self-sacrifice)- and the pacing of his and Hikaru's story felt a little rushed, especially when Takara and Hikaru sort of had that thing going in the middle..it might have worked better with a few more volumes, or chapters even. But I did like his dog, 'baka Hiyoko'- and some of his and Hikaru's interactions were really funny. Though I feel the big misstep in the story was the fact that Takara-kun was brought back into Hikaru's life at all- it only serves to remind me how in love they were, and to ditch rooting for Arata (which I'd started to do a little of, by then). I think the split-personality storyline sounded cool at first, but in the extra chapter at the end, I actually liked the fact that Arata could unbend enough towards Takara to give him flowers for graduation.
The overwhelming impression at the end of the manga, though (at least IMO) is disappointment for poor Takara, who really and truly does love Hikaru. I wish Ikeyamada-sensei would write him a story of his own as a sort of sequel to this, where he finds another girl whom he loves as much as he loves Hikaru.

It's cliched yet it's cute. I really didn't like the story. I hate the heroine, she just falls into the typical shoujo heroine category. And she's really indecisive. Arata looks like a wimp later on. And I don't like Takara either. I'm sorry, I just really didn't like the story.
I think this series was really cute. Really cliche but hey, it still makes it good. I found how he lied about the split personality rather funny, but I somehow knew that was alie from the beginning seeing as he (Arata) hated it whenever someone said it. Arata is such a Tsundere xD
possible spoiler For the ones who didn't read far than volume 1...it has nothing to do with split personality. I'm sure she will break up with takara-kun and i just don't want to see it. But i think it isn't so cliche because there was a time when she truly loved him. I'm tired of those mangas where the main girl realizes she didn't truly love the guy she was dating but the other one. end of spoiler I'm going to read the whole thing but i'm not sure i will like it. I don't even understand why i kept reading it when the main character is so annoying. And i just laughed out loud when i saw all those men falling for takara...it was just too weird xD
I wanted to like this story. I really did, but the way the plot developed. The characters, after awhile they became so annoying. Particularly Arata. That he winds up with the girl is partially what bothered me so much about this story. Now that I've read it, I know I won't be reading it again. Its simply not worth my time.
I have to say even though this isn't the most original story ever, it is nonetheless very sweet and good. It does its best to be not so predictable and makes you go, "aww," at the end.
I never saw the end coming when I started reading. The whole split personality thing kind of ruined it and I almost stopped reading because it reminded me of "Othello."
The art work is pretty gorgeous. I cried when they broke up.

This was surprisingly good. I had tears every chapter for the last few...its a shoujo...theres going to be cliches, theres going to be blushing, love triangles, kissing, and alot of corny scenes. BUT, despite all of that, and me not really being a shoujo fan, I can honestly say I enjoyed this. The ending in my opinion was how it should be and I don't think I would have liked it any other way.
