Hi MU, I'm intrusting the community with helping me out on this particular search. After reading a fairly new manga Usotsuki Paradox the thought occured to me that this theme is not so mainstream. However there are more frequently seen examples in H-manga (NTR lol). So I'm looking for fairly non-h works, somewhat vanilla. Please no yaoi, yuri is fine; also, please no shojou as cheating in that genre is quite cliche. Furthermore it would be a huge extra if it worked out in the end for the man or woman who was cheated. Also for those interested in helping, I did in fact use the search function and found a few somewhat similar topics, but was instead looking for specifics.

Does Josei count? Because the first thing that comes to mind is Cappuccino. Cappuccino certainly deals with adultery, and I guess I would consider it vanilla. Basically the male protagonist cheats on his girlfriend. I'm not quite sure what you mean by cliche, but you could try this one.

Nozoki Ana is almost an hentai and cheating play an important role in the story (probably the second main theme beside voyeurism). And I know it's almost an hentai but it's pretty much the only one I'd recommend from the bunch of those kind of manga since it has a plot and good characters (beside the extreme amount of fanservice). So if you don't mind that give it a try.

Well a manga called Sekilala Kanojo by LINDA has the main girl sleeping around with ALOT of guys. Its pretty close to being a Hentai manga. A bit too much for Borderline H anyway.

i dont read cheating manga, but i may be able to help a bit.

in cheating manga there are a lot of verities

• woman is an uncaring slut who is only out for her pleasure.
• man is an uncaring douchebag who only wants to get off
• woman can get what she wants in her man, but still likes him, but has someone on the side
• man read the one above this
• the ones where the man gets drunk and this happens.
• the ones where the man gets caught up in the moment and realises mistake after
• the same as the two above but for women.

i believe that covered all the variants of straight, im not bothering with yuri, as that is a whole different ballpark.

tell us which ones you are looking for, some of these happen more in hentai than not, so be warned, and also if you want any "surprises" to happen after the cheat, like preggers or a std that comes back to bite them in the ass.

im saying this because some times im in the mood for comedy, some times its light hearted slice of life kind, some times its black lol look at how that guy got killed "Darwin award" kind, and nothing ruins your mood faster than the wrong kind.
