what is the purpose of life?
to find your purpose, of course!. 
just as i was told by a pastor, everyone was given 1 or more talent and it's your duty to make the most out of that/those talent.
...does that answer the question?

How do the masses/the world/society think about the purpose of life..? Idk. Probably in a superficial manner.
What do you believe is the purpose of life..? Uh, to live.
And what is your purpose/goal in life..? To eat good food and then die when the time comes.

all and i mean all questions about what the purpose of life can be answered with this one statement
the purpose of life is to enjoy yourself. now by using talent...money...intelligence...manga, that all the depends on what you do, but in the end you enjoy yourself right

To me, life isn't really about a "purpose" or a big thing everyone needs to do. It's about the journey to whatever you believe is life's purpose. About life's ups and downs; about hardships and happiness. How your journey ends isn't the point; it's about what you experience as it happens.

I'm the type to vehemently disagree with any notion of a special purpose given to each and every person. No, no no no. I believe if you're 'alive' then that's where it ends. In life there's no such thing as 'purpose' or 'special' meaning or an onion skin effect.
That being said, I think life is fine even if you're not enjoying yourself, not having fun etc. I don't think having a a smile on your face makes life any more special.
