I havent read any shounen-ai for a LONG while because it got a little stale for me but figure I might as well try reading the genre again. What recently got me back into it however, was reading a story recently about two best friends who developed feelings for each other (sorry the name escapes me at the moment, will put it up when I remember it). As such I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion for GOOD story about a shounen-ai or about best friends who developed feelings for each other. Yaoi is ok so long as the plot is good (not just full of smut). I did read the thread on 'childhood friends' but found a lot were simply stories that were far to explicit for my taste.
On the other side of the coin Im also interested in trying such a story with shoujo-ai (not Yuri, thats far to explicit for me) that contains best friends. I have not really delved into that particular genre before so not sure whether it would be my thing. However if anyone has any suggestions on where to start, it would be much appreciated. 🙂

For shounen-ai > Gerbera sounds VERY close to what you want.
For shoujo-ai Girlfriends sounds abou right. Classed as yuri but really I would put it in the shoujo-ai category. There is no explicitness at all.

Do you mean Girl Friends? it mis-links it if you don't put a space in.
Anyway, I would suggest Girl Friends for GL. Very shoujo and girly but really enjoyable and heartbreaking. One of my favorite series. Can't suggest much BL stuff though...

Little Butterfly is good. Its very cute. Its got some smut here and there but its not alot.
I also agree with the ppl who mentioned Girl Friends. Its very shoujo, both girls are very innocent, and the relationship is slow moving. I love it. It seems pretty realistic almost. Theres alot of angst too and they just dont jump into a relationship.
