This is a story about two friends, from nearly the beginning to almost the end of their lives, who happen to love each other.

Tatsuya and Junichi are in 5th grade and their music teacher is a pedophile. One day the music teacher has a request for Yumi, a girl who uses him to get expensive gifts. He wants her to get Tatsuya into the music room so he can be with him. Junichi recently confessed his feelings for Yumi and she decides to use him as bait to get Tatsuya to go to the music room. Junichi and Tatsuya's future does not look good...

Note: Only chapter 1 of volume 1 and chapter 7 of volume 2 is shotacon. Reading chapter 1 is almost necessary for the story and is not very explicit, but chapter 7 of volume 2 is an extra/one-shot and can be skipped over completely for those who dislike shota.

Thanks to tha mangaka's writing ability, I HATE Tatsuya so much! What a low life human being! I cried for Jun a lot while reading this. This is what you call one bad decision makes you can change you life. Everytime I see the cover, I would remember the cheating bastard who doesn't love anyone but himself, GO DIE!. Totally agree with mtmt1311's comment above, it's worth reading if you want to get frustrated and cry.

The feels. Such a beautiful story...
Although many of you might her Takako, i don't thinks shes to blame for getting married to Tatsuya. I think she really tried to avoid it, but got convinced by him and the thought of not being alone anymore.
I really think that Tatsuya was a coward, even when he was the one dragging Jun to their relationship, he kept on doubting him almost till the end and always cared more about what others may think. I really think that he slept with her as he said, trying to scape of their relationship and the stigma it was for him... For me, he was so egotistic.
Jun was my favorite of them all. He really deserved to live happily ever after <3

I admit the beginning was a little effy but the more you read the better it gets, until you just grow to love everyone in the manga! Gosh I love this manga and how it portrayed the life of gay men. This was just so touching and gosh the ending left my heart aching!!! I wondered who Manabu ended up dating and I wish there were more details in between the events where Kazuya was going to open his cafe and how Junichi became a part of his life again. Either way this manga as so good! I didn't want it to end but when it did I was satisfied as well. Beautiful!!! PS the first yaoi I teared up this bad.

Interesting, realistic view on a whole lifetime!

Well, the start is just terrible. The comedy-shounen style really doesn't go well with the rapist teacher and all...
I didn't like the art much, and while the comedic panels and silly faces stay, the art becomes better once the guys are adults.
I won't say too much about this manga, but it's a more realistic view, also covering some of the possible 'downsides' of homosexuality. It's a view on a couple's life, together and separated, from their childhood together to their death - and that makes it very special.
I love seeing a lot of the life of characters, and you really do get a lot here!

If you want to read something other than the usual tiny snippets of relationship that BL manga have, give it a shot! It's not always positive and you might have some heartache, but it's close to life! Bad things happen! It's an overall positive read, and you really just gotta make it through the first volume, cause from the 2nd volume on it gets a lot better.

Personally, I didn't like that
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Kenta didn't end up with Gakkun... I was hoping they'd get a happy ending too, HOWEVER, on the other hand, I am also kind of tired of those mangaka who make the whole family gay which is just unrealistic. So in a way, the mangaka's decision to leave them separated was also not bad and while this left me feeling a bit sad at the end, I wouldn't rate it lower because of that either.

It's the only manga that made me cry this much.
After reading the ending I felt a sense of sadness and happiness at the same time.
Relationship are not always smooth sailing but they still find their way into their hearts and remain with each other till death do they part.
The cover may be a bit unappealing but the content is what it's great.
A truly magnificent manga.
It's like no other. I will forever treasure this in my heart.

I don‘t usually write reviews but it doesn‘t hurt to do so from time to time.

The story gives us snippets of two guys‘ lifetime. They were originally childhood friends then turn lovers in their adolescence after that they grow closer then grow further and so on. 4 volumes cannot tell a person‘s whole lifetime so the author does time skips every chapter and the other, in a way I quite liked and felt comfortable with.

Since the manga is like a biography of Junichi and Tatsuya readers might expect something extremely serious but this manga is rather light, silly (in a good way) and comedic just as the tag comedy suggests. Yes stuff like this doesn‘t happen in real life but I‘m sure we don‘t seek realism in manga a lot, especially in a manga aimed for young female readers.

Even after I finished reading this manga I still can‘t see Junichi and Tatsuya as nothing but a rather way too close friends. Perhaps the author intended to portray this but I am not sure. I simply feel like they are just close bros who feel deep for each others and, at some point, started having sex.

Going to do the rest with pluses and minuses.
(+)Flow of time
(+)The relationship the main characters have which I still can‘t view as pure love
(+)Awkward balance of comedic and serious element in the story
(+)Flow of time.. Did I mention this before?

(-)Art is shit
(-)Leaves no impact on the reader

I feel like I can forget the story tomorrow, which is a big minus for any story out there.

Don‘t let my rating stops you from reading it if you‘re into BL manga and all the more if you are searching for something a bit different. I never rate BL manga more than 7 (unless there are tasty shotas and traps) so 6 is a good rating relative to my rating standards.

This story was beautiful. Not your typical yaoi manga that is more explicit. It had a plot and it struck a cord in most peoples hearts.

This actually had a more shoujo feel to it. It was romantic. I agree that the art was not attractive but tolerable. It did get much better later in the story. What people fail to see is that the story was worth tolerating the art.

It was bittersweet. I've been tired of reading the same plot over and over again with any type of genre of manga. This was the first in a long time that made me cry. It makes me regret putting it off (despite my best friend's recommendation--she's a great critic. She doesn't like just anything) just because of the art.

All in all, a great story. A tad unrealistic but not impossible. Great read. I would recommend it.

The only reason it's not a 10 is because of the random unimportant, and queasy-making shouta. But it's a one shot so you can skip that.
This amazing book is on par with Haru wo Daitieta!! *\(^o^)/*

I don't know if it's just me but why do most of you find this manga so....heavenly or fantastic or beautiful? Yes, you have your right to do that but why are your responses about this manga SO positive? To me, this was a bad yaoi manga,..l felt nothing out of it. It was disturbing and did not portray any realistic situations! Who knows? Maybe it's just me but THIS WAS BAD in so many ways!

In a nutshell,
a) Artwork was bearable...
b) Plot was floating... Lol
c) I don't know about recommendations though....

I didn't enjoy it as much as the reviews said I would.... Oh well, this is just not my thing! You guys can give it a try though for what it's worth...

I dont understand why this has such amazing reviews. Its not realistic people. Spoilers throughout. Cheating doesnt make everything realistic. A GAY guy have sex with a LESBIAN bc they spent ONE night together and got pregnant. While a STRAIGHT guy got seduced by a woman when he was DRUNK, nothing happens. This is such exaggeration that far from reality. There are way too many things that make me want to drop the manga but I finished it just for the heck of the review.

1) The shoutacon rape was portrayed in a funny way that borderlines to ridiculous. Rape should never be taken lightly as this.

2) So Jun fought to hard to protest the slut's virginity just for him to give it away in high school? Just because u dont have the one u love, u have sex with random people, even though u still have a long way ahead of u? And he picked the worst guy to have sex with. Dumb and slutty. I laughed when he explains why hes still a virgin "It wasnt sex" Then what is. I bet prostitutes sleep around and tell people they're virgins since it wasnt sex. Spare me from nonsense.

3) The cheating incident is annoying but expected from the slut. Whats unrealistic is he leaving his so-called the-love-of-his-life so easily. I mean this guy still sticks to him after the wife died and he pushed him away like nothing? He even goes as far as saying "Ur a bother" Excuse me, ur the one who should be on ur knees to get him back to help u and the result of ur adultery. But no he is the one that begs for it. Lame and unfair.

4) And of course, pregnancy from one time, and instead of providing money, he gets married. Anyone will be happy about this? I bet not. But he is too dumb for this anyways.

5) And the author ran out of idea to solve it in a realistic way so she killed off her character. I mean if she didnt die or if Jun didnt disappear then what? Cheating? LOL
I read better story where a guy chose a woman instead of his male lover, for example Kyuuso wa Cheese no Yume o Miru and its sequels. If ur into guys with kids, a ONESHOT from Kiss Blue is more touching and believable than this.

6) Does he really love Jun? I doubt it, he chose the woman twice, not once. When he left him at the hotel, there is a high possibility that he will never meet Jun again but he ran to his wife anyways. The 5 year reunion, reunion after the wife's death and even moving in were anticlimactic, or more like, where is the love? But he didnt really love his wife, he has no problem sleeping with a dude before their wedding day. I got me wonder did he really love him or just his teenage phase? Coz obviously, Jun is more into him than he was into Jun in the later half of the story. He contacted Jun bc his wife told him and he lived him him also bc the wife told him. Does this guy have any backbone?

7) Tatsuya tried so hard and was happy for them to be in a relationship, then he wished to ended (he told his wife so) but have no intention of quitting his sexual relationship with Jun. Huh? The mangaka tried so hard to reason his actions but gives us something illogical instead.

8) Why do we have story about a son that I couldnt care less? I dont care if hes gay or not. I mean he is a insensitive, immature, two-timing and selfish douchebag just like his dad. Genetics I guess, like father, like son. Or is it from the mom? Couldnt tell since they're both jerks.

9) The so-called amazing end is very typical. It happened for every couple like one dies, imagining the other one gets him. Just not every manga does this. New York New York and A Night of a Thousand Dreams also have this but in a more touching way.

10) The art is bland bad and the narration is just so...poorly done that I almost fell asleep coz the feeling didnt sink in at all with all the ridiculous plot.

I guess people will like it if they're into characters growing up together. Im a big fan too but not this one, the characters, despite all the length that we have to go through, just plain flat. They didnt change or mature throughout the story unlike any other long manga.
