k, cause most of my friends that are girls think its weird for guys to read shoujo and think that guys only read things like dragonball where stuff has to blow up every 2 seconds, or 2 months in the anime.

Haha, I'm actually a girl. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Tons of guys read shoujo.
I think shoujo generally has the better art, romance, and character depth.
Shounen's biggest common flaw is lack of character depth.

I second the pie chick above me. I'm a chick and I know several guys who enjoy shoujo.
I thought it was weird at first, but got used to it. I personally like guys who read smut manga. I find it quite a turn on....

Most of the mangas I've read are shoujo... and I'm not ashamed of it. Most people think it's weird, but I'm fine with it. Not to mention there are A LOT more shoujo than shounen? That's what I've noticed when I look at the genre's.

I read shoujo but personally prefer shounen over it.
But way to generalize Tachu, just like there are cliche shounen mangas there are also cliche shoujo mangas. Get the best of both worlds and read both.
Edit: Also Tachu you said "Average shounen mangas". How about the awesome ones?

I dunno, I read a lot of shoujo but a vast majority of it is just extremeley repetitive, like just as much as or even more than shounen (with the repetitiveness and cliches). Personally I like josei the best. Meh.

I've read some of both, mostly shonen but a few shojo as well like: Fruits Basket Tokyo Crazy Paradise Vampire Knight Hana Kimi and Skip Beat with a few more thrown in, of these TCP is one of my favs. followed by Skip Beat and Hana Kimi.
