arent those two series kinda alike?
both ichigo and kazuki were dragged into the buisness of slaying former-humans when they tried to save a girl.
both are stronger then they seem, both are being hunted down by their so called comrades...

Add Ga-Rei to that. It's said that Kubo Tite 'borrowed' the whole Bleach scenario from that manga. Basically you have your Ken-chan, who can see ghosts, then he's recruited by a girl to help slay them... And you know the story.
Haven't read Busou Renkin, tho.

Bleach seems to be more "matter of fact" with the 13 squads and Shinigami being more like police/ garudains with a great amount of arrogance. Ichigo comes into this at a critical time to stop all this order from being completely destroyed. Ichigo made the decision to fight to become a shinigami of his own will.
Busou Renkin has more of desperation feel to it as Muto struggles to find himself now since his life has taken a path he did not truly choose.
Many of the same general points Busou and Bleach share..
Sword being like a manifestation of the heart or soul, cute girl who knows a lot about a lot but lacks any real power and relies on the new found comrade to, the friendship and playful sexual tension that develops between the male and female characters after going though many life and death experiences(maybe I'm just seeing things and just adding some of my more perverted thoughts here).
But if life is truly in the details and the journey not the destination matters move so then though similar in general nature they are very fundamentally different. AKA: Do you want a coke, diet coke, coke classic, or coke with only 1 cal?
Major difference is the character profiles mostly....oh well

Oh, I was about to say Ga-Rei too after reading the title! Tite did? lol I thought it was the other way around, 'cause I read Bleach first.
Yu Yu Hakusho's also like them, especially at the beginning.
But stop saying that this guy copied from that guy or woman w/e.. Every story has its inspiration from somewhere.. They may be 'similar', but they aren't the same..

its all just your typical shounen starting scenario, out of the many other options Kubo could have gone with, thats all. (in this case, A meets B who lives in a different way of life, kept secret from general public. A gets dragged into this way of life, one way or another.)

That's why I wrote 'borrowed'. Found that info somewhere on the net, someone said that Ga-Rei's first chapter was released earlier than Bleach. Guess it's not true.

I think Ga-rei is the rip off, not Bleach
Busou Renkin was slightly different to me then Bleach.
Bleach was bishy-packed, w00t!

I dont really see any similarity in any of the series except perhaps for the start of the series. But the "boy gets new power and saves the girl" thing is a common plot device.
I guess Ga-rei can be seen as similar to start with, but past the first volume there really isnt much similarity besides dealing with spirits and ghosts.
