No.
No way.
Cartoons are not meant to be portrayed by flesh and blood people.

I actually do. I pretty much liked the live action version of Nodame Cantabile, Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (old edition, not the new or Taiwanese one) and I felt okay with Gokusen. But I feel rather doubtful about most of them. I hate it when the plots differs too much and some ridiculous costumes look simply weird.

Oh right. Happy New Year!

Nope.

I don't watch anything but anime and barely even that. I do watch documentaries,
but those only if they're airing and I accidentally watch them.
My TV is just a second monitor for my PC
and I don't follow/torrent any series to begin with.
I've just quit watching TV altogether since the reality show bomb exploded.
So much garbage.

I do.

IMO
some are alot better than their lightnovel, manga and or animated older siblings
like
Gokusen the first season
wanko
GTO
HanaKimi
Densha Otoko

Meteor Garden also very good...i dont see the point in the japanese remake...it feels like watching hollywood remakes of good asian movies

i really like the Maison Ikkoku movie from the 80s ...its so weird
the tv specials are pretty damn good to

but i pretty much hated everything about the ranma special[xpt Akane she was good]

but...most of them fall in the OMG this is so BORING categorie

now
im looking forward to the Kenshin live action movie/tv show

I've seen the Taiwanese drama for Mars, and I liked it. I tried watching the drama for Kimi wa Pet, but wasn't able to even finish the first episode. I've also watched a live-action movie based on a yaoi manga, but wasn't that impressed with it (I can't even remember the name of it).

Now I pretty much avoid dramas and live-action movies. I think part of the reason I'm not into them is that I'm used to the production quality from Hollywood tv and film.

I've watched a few episodes of The Wallflower. I liked the drama better than the anime, and the manga better than either. The drama hewed more closely to the manga, as I recall, with some differences. I felt that the changes made in the drama worked for the story, such as the addition of the aunt's son, and the bartender. One change that didn't work was to have the Goth Lollies inexplicably dress in normal clothes, which of course negated their identity. Another thing I liked about the drama was that they didn't overlap any of the chapters already done in the anime.

Yea I have TONS, I'm a bit of a manga/anime/drama/science/DrWho/BBC/Yaoi/K-pop/K-variety show Hardcore Asian Nerd (Nice to meet you all)

So yea I've watched a few .... started with Hana Yori dango, that was one was like the first asian drama I watch based on a series I think.... i just watch dramas.... some just so happens to be based off manga/animes....
So....: 🙄
-It started with a kiss ( Taiwan)
-Playful kiss (Korean)
Based off same anime/manga (With same title) I have yet to watch the Japanese one because it was made in the same year I was born ..... so, eh. They were both pretty good, Taiwanese one was more fulfilling because it was in two seasons and had a lot of post-marriage stuff which I liked

and a sequence where he got jealous which I bloody loved :D so it was more close nit to the anime

  • Hana yori dango (Jap)
  • Boys before flowers (Kor.)
Really enjoyed the Japanese when I was young, they're both classic made-to-make-your-heart-flutter-or-puke stuff and the eye candy is especially good in the Korean one.
  • The Wallflower
Alright.... but the anime and manga are better they changed it up a bit

she head butts instead of hardcore nosebleeds, which was disappointing.... >:-(

-Gokusen
Alright, but I haven't seen the anime or manga so I wouldn't know

She beats people up so I was like You go girlfriend!

-Hana Kimi(Jap)
-Hana Kimi (Taiwan)
Loved it, mainly because it was so ridiculous to the point of awesomeness, liked the Japanese one better though, but enjoyed the manga even more because it actually has an ending.

I've started watching City Hunter (Korean) which is loosely based off the manga, it's really great in some areas give or take but I hear it has a crud ending.
My sister watched the Japanese drama for absolute boyfriend from the snippets its something I probably wouldn't watch ...

OH AND GOONG WAS AWESOME, I take back what I said before, I watched Goong (Kor.) first, loved it then love it now 😀 Based on manhwa .... but yea same same

I'm about to watch Skip beat ( Extravagant Challenge [Taiwan]) which I'm looking forward to because it's starring Lee Dong Hae and Choi Siwon ( Members of Korean band Super Junior which I freaking love) in it but I don't really think they're right for the part... but oh well I'm watching for the eye candy 😁 The Manga is AWESOME (the anime wasn't great, wasn't bad either) in my opinion so I don't really have high hopes for it, but I do hear the Actress(Ivy Chen) is good in it.

I probably forgetting some or don't know it's based off a manga/anime, but I should probably finish the post ne?

So yea .... thanks for reading if you actually read the long-ass post. 😁

I do.
I had just finished boys over flowers (anime) and started watching both the Japan and Taiwan drama. sens then I've triad Ouran High School Host Club, Mushishi(movie), the wallflower, and Skip Beat(still airing). :-P the drama's are not as good as the manga or anime counterparts but it's nice to see a well loved story on another format. It's because I watched these that I found some really good dramas not based on anime or manga. If any one is looking for a grate drama that is not based on any manga or anime but still has the feel of one. I would suggest You're Beautiful, one of the best drama's I've ever seen (that includes what I have seen in the USA.

They don't seem to be too available.............. 😕 (like absolute boyfriend)

But I have seen some. my favorite was the deathnote live action. I really liked it. 😃

but no, even if it was available (or maybe I'm just not looking in the right places) i still wouldn't be a big fan. if its not anime then it seems kinda wrong............
