I'm looking for a shoujo ai/yuri manga where atleast one of the characters are struggling with coming out to parents/relatives and the hardships that might come with it. I would prefer a manga that actually deals with some hardships instead of being all "lovey dovey" and "worried about what their best friend are going to think when they say they like them" etc. etc.
In comparation I would prefer a manga similar to "South of Nowhere", it's a TV serie that ran 2005-2008 in the US.
I've been reading some shoujo ai lately and they're mostly all the same, one character confess their feeling, the other one is surprised and after a few chapters they realised they love each other.
If you know any manga that is more serious then that, then that'll also be fine even if I'm mainly looking for what I described at the top of the post.
(Edit: grammar)

I've read them both and they're good but they both (especially girl friends) have that "lovey dovey" feeling to them.

Octave is for more mature readers, it doesn't follow the schoolgirl recipe that most shoujo ai does. It has a lot to do with narcissism, sexual identity, and the opinion of others. Definitely a more adult read.
Love my life includes a young lesbian girl who is struggling to come out to her father
Aoi Hana appears to have that standard shoujo ai setup where a girl falls for her best friend, but it is much more complicated than that. It takes that setup more realistically by having the character question whether they really can answer their friends' feelings and just miraculously transition into lovers.
Those are the series that I know of that may fit the bill. Here are a few oneshots:
A white white dress Girl comes out to her mom
Cotton candy love apparently centers around transgender girl who witnesses a heartbroken baker. Short story about being who you should despite how difficult it may be, not all ends are happy in yuri relationships.
The wife-to-be, really depressed by this one.
Dusk, orange, the blooming flowers I was actually surprised by the outcome

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Lately that seems to be the case with Ah-chan after she hurriedly has sex with Fumi and is left wondering if she even loves Fumi

I second Octave, but as caozhi said, it is adult. And I raise Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakurairo.
