I typically avoid anything with tragedy, and try to read ones that are more upbeat.
However, I've recently gotten into the mood of reading sad manga. Is there a series that made you actually tear up? I've read series that had put me in a somber mood, but I never actually cried over a manga.

The one closest to a tear jerker for me was Bokura ga ita.

Same here, I'm not a big tragedy fan. But a series that made me cry would be The Friendly Winter

Deep Love - Ayu no Monogatari - I think the entire Deep Love series is a tear jearker. But, I have read only one.

I cried the whole way through Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, Hoshi no Koe and The Friendly Winter.
