I typically avoid anything with tragedy, and try to read ones that are more upbeat.
However, I've recently gotten into the mood of reading sad manga. Is there a series that made you actually tear up? I've read series that had put me in a somber mood, but I never actually cried over a manga.

The one closest to a tear jerker for me was Bokura ga ita. confused confused

Same here, I'm not a big tragedy fan. But a series that made me cry would be The Friendly Winter

Annarasumanara
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan
Koe no Katachi
Hoshi No Koe (This didn't make me cry but it has a melancholy mood)

They are full of little cowardices, little fears without foundation, and one is so easily bruised, so swiftly wounded, one falls to the first barbed word. To-day, wrapped in the complacent armour of approaching middle age, the infinitesimal pricks of day by day brush one but lightly and are soon forgotten, but then--how a careless word would linger, becoming a fiery stigma, and how a look, a glance over a shoulder, branded themselves as things eternal." Lots of them..
Can't See Can't Hear But Love
Deep Love - Ayu no Monogatari - I think the entire Deep Love series is a tear jearker. But, I have read only one.
Helter Skelter
Kanojo no Namida ga Yuki da Toshitara
Koizora

I cried the whole way through Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan, Hoshi no Koe and The Friendly Winter.
