I went "Not really. I read manga and/or watch anime often, but I still put my social life over that stuff" because I'm proud of the fact that I have a social life. And because I've seen enough bad manga/anime and some really good other things.

I'm somewhere in between "more or less" and "not really". Of course, the fact that I'm even on a site like this leans me more towards "more or less", so I voted that. I do have a social life, but it's definitely my primary hobby.

Wow. Lot of people consider themselves otaku, huh? Well I went for the third choice since I like reading manga and watching anime in my free time, and I don't really know all that much about Japanese culture otherwise.

I chose more or less. I'm so into manga/anime, but doesn't mean I'm totally obsessed. I try to balance my hobbies and my social life. And, anyway, I met lots of new friends from this hobby.

People need to get through their heads that being an otaku is NOT a good thing. x__x;
Maybe the poll should've been "what do you consider to be an otaku". ;P
The only series I'm an otaku to is prob. Hana-Kimi because I MUST own everything about it [my current goal is getting a Sano pillow to huggle with at night~]

I don't consider myself anywhere near the level of "Otaku" I'm an avid fan and own alot of anime manga, and it be disappointing if they were to disappear but I don;t cinsider them neccessary. So i'm "More or less"

I hate the word "otaku" as I really don't like the actual meaning, nor do I fit that definition. However, manga is a major, major part of my life - I DO still have a social life despite it, but it's quite big for me. Hence why I went with the first one. Except that the use of the term "otaku" made me take far longer to answer than a poll that didn't use a negative term would've.

I don't consider the word otaku to be offensive since I call myself that sometimes, but I think it depends on the tone and the person saying it :\
