Some of you may have anticipated this development after the recent events at MangaStream, but we are sad to report that Red Hawk Scanlations has received a DMCA notice of copyright infringement from Shueisha with regard to the Bakuman and Beelzebub series. We have no desire to pick legal battles, so we have removed the series in question from our servers and will no longer be providing access to them via our site effective immediately.
However, aggregate sites will undoubtedly continue to distribute material as they please, independent of our actions here. The act of editing manga itself is not illegal, and we have no control over what is distributed on other servers. Meanwhile the Red Hawk site will continue to serve as a hub for updates and discussion as we continue to pursue our passions without engaging in the illegal distribution of these series.
In short, these series are not dropped, but they will not be found on our servers.
Sincerely,
Red Hawk Scanlations*

Dear MangaStream supporter,
It's with a heavy heart that I make the following announcement. MangaStream will no longer be
releasing the following series:
VIZ Media has demanded that we end our scanlation work for all of the above. This comes despite
our best efforts to pursuade fans into supporting official distributors by being the only group to
actively prevent an archive from forming on their website through the removal of chapters that are
older than a couple weeks. They've succeeded in little more than invoking inconvenience to the
community as their digital magazine missed the mark; it runs several issues behind and only
features 3 of the above series. So long as their product continues to be slow, awkward and inferior to
something a ragtag group of nobodies can churn out in a few hours - fans will continue to look to
scanlation groups and aggregators for their weekly fix.
The aggressive and escalating nature of their threats have forced our hand into removing the content.
MangaStream will no longer be posting full scanlations for any of the aforementioned series, we will
instead focus our efforts onto the series we do that are not licensed by VIZ Media (you can assume
everything currently on our directory will be continued).
This week's poll is from our member aznluck. If you haven't noticed, some scanlation groups put watermarks over their stuff so that no one can copy it and claim it as their own. What's your opinion on such a practice?

Question: If a series was good all the way to the ending which sucked, would you still read another series by the same author?
Choices:
Yes - votes: 12528 (89.7%)
No - votes: 1440 (10.3%)

Not hard to predict that one, but I'm surprised at the high number of "no"
This week's poll, which was suggested by our member ayumisingo, is a little long-winded... If you have been reading a series, and you liked it, but then right at the ending, it just sucked so bad, would you still read another series by the same author? Very weird question... But my personal prediction is that most people would still read their stuff since they liked it up until the end. (No forum thread this time)

The rival, eh? I guess a lot of people like the catharsis of turning an enemy into a lover
babel writes: *So, after nine years, Mahou Sensei Negima! will be ending (but not until the March 15th issue of Weekly Shonen). AKAMATSU Ken will be taking his time to write the three remaining installments. It is uncertain at the moment whether or not these will be extended chapters (as he did with the ending of Love Hina). It is also unknown what, if anything, will follow Negima. Rumors on the anime boards have suggested variously that a 'Negima 2' will be written (with a slightly more adult cast), or that fatherhood has taken it's toll and nothing will be forthcoming for the foreseeable future, though neither of these possibilities has been accompanied by any hard evidence so far...

I for one am very excited. Did you know that Negima was the very first series that I helped scanlate?

As expected, people prefer the printed volume. However, the digital version is getting more popular it seems!

This poll from our member mewarmo990 has a large assumption: money is not an issue. Other than that, it's a poll that may seem pretty familiar. (And lots of big words in the title)

Interesting... The results were pretty even. I'm surprised that the reverse harem option got so many votes!
Our member ScytheMaster14 suggested this poll on harem in manga (and manhua and manhwa). I feel it's a pretty straight forward post, so vote away!

Many of us have probably only eaten ramen and sushi. The others are not as well known, at least in the states.
