
He started his career in late 2000s.
In 2009 he participated in Weekly Shonen Jump's Golden Future Cup contest with the one-shot “Meiji Hyakkiya Koten Dengi”.
He made his debut in Shonen Jump with Enma Gavel in 2011.
In 2020, he drew Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken - Yuusha Avan to Gokuen no Maou a spin-off of Dragon Quest - Dai no Daibouken on V Jump.
His father Shibata Hiroki who works at Toei Animation was involved in the original anime production in 1991. SHIBATA Hikari is his younger sister.
He had worked as an assistant for HORIKOSHI Kouhei on Oumagadoki Doubutsuen, OOISHI Kouji on Inumarudashi, KATOU Kazue on Ao no Futsumashi, AMAMI Yoshikazu on Boukoku no Siegfried and ODA Eiichiro on One Piece.
Shirahama Kamome & Goto Ippei were his classmates at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
