This week's poll about the past is from our member icassop. How has your manga reading changed in the last 5 years? Read a lot more? Read less? Started reading in the last 5 years? Maybe you don't read anymore...
As for me, I'm currently reading a lot less than I did 5 years ago. Heck, 5 years ago I was still scanlating as a proofreader. Those were the days...

Wow, webcomics beat manhua? But not manhwa. Then again, most of the scanlated webcomics are Korean, so I guess you could consider them manhwa.
This week's poll is from Hatez17. It's sort of an unfair question (in my mind), and the audience for MU will probably skew some of the results. And yes, some of the choices kind of overlap (especially the webcomic choice), but deal with it. We've had sort of similar post polls, but this is the first to explicitly pit the different types against each other.

Huh, black and white still reigns as king. I guess the rise of webcomics hasn't yet influenced the masses toward wanting more color.
This week's poll is from our member Ortegach. We did a similar poll about 3.5 years ago, but the difference now is that we have many more webcomics in existence. Perhaps the answers will change now! Color? Or black and white?

The climatic battle in the last chapter where the hero sacrifices himself to save the world
This week's poll about death is from our member miskatsura. It's an odd poll. The assumption here is that in the series, the main character (or an important main character) is going to die sometime in the series. At what point in the series would you like this death to occur? (In terms of resurrecting the character, I'll leave that up to you). For the option "Already dead when the series starts", it could be that the main character is the narrator who has already died and is telling a story about the past. Or it could be that the character is some kind of ghost or undead being. I guess it depends on the story you want to tell, but I'll leave that up to you when voting on this poll!

Question: What if your favorite series was already complete (in original language) but the scanlations (for your preferred language) were too slow for you to keep up?
Choices:
Resort to reading / looking at the raws - votes: 2763 (24.2%)
Ask for spoilers / summaries for people who have read the raws - votes: 878 (7.7%)
Patiently wait for each release and read right away - votes: 5097 (44.6%)
I'll give up and read the entire thing once the scanlation is finished - votes: 2001 (17.5%)
There's always other stuff to read, so I'll just forget about this one - votes: 700 (6.1%)

Patience is a virtue. But a surprising amount of you would hunt down some raws! I'm quite surprised by the amount of people that chose that option!
Sura's Place is closing soon (after finishing up whatever is on his plate). For those of you who don't know, Sura was previously known as JanimeS from 2002-2012. This lady has been scanlating almost every day since 2002. I bet many of you haven't even been reading manga for that long.
Some of you may wonder why is she stopping now? He cites Mangafox in particular as not obeying her requests to not post her releases on online reading sites. You can read the details at http://www.surasplace.com/
I for one am sad to see the departure of a mainstay of the scanlation community. I haven't personally read any of the series she worked on, but she did introduce the English-reading world to many atypical series such as Intersexuality, or the popular series Superior.
You will be missed
This week's poll is from our member hiei_luke. So imagine this scenario. Your favorite series has already been completed by the author, but the scanlations for your preferred language (let's assume you can't read the original language) are just too slow (let's say in the order of months between releases). What would you do? Of course, can't include every possible option, but this should be a good selection.

Question: Are you hard or easy when rating manga (on 1-10 scale)?
Choices:
I give everything a high rating if it's just okay. I like to be nice - votes: 344 (3.2%)
I give mainly good ratings, saving the highest and lowest for extreme cases - votes: 4372 (40.6%)
Most series are average, so most series get a 5 - votes: 505 (4.7%)
I tend to rate everything pretty low - votes: 64 (0.6%)
I only rate the extremes. Anything in the middle gets no rating - votes: 1066 (9.9%)
I believe I legitimately give a rating that the series deserves - votes: 2632 (24.5%)
I don't rate manga at all - votes: 1781 (16.5%)

I was actually doing a bit of investigation on the series ratings last week for a separate project of mine. And let's just say what actually happens is fairly close to what this poll indicates. I also mentioned to Manick that I suspect the publishers filter out most of the bad series by not publishing them, so perhaps that's why the series ratings tend to be on the high side. Then again, publishers tend to publish based on what will sell, and not by what is unique or good (since as we all should know that good doesn't necessary mean it'll sell, and vice versa).
This week's poll is from our member nowyat. It's an examination of how you tend to rate series. Do you tend to rate with a normal distribution or is it skewed in one direction? You could even think about how you rate things on Yelp, Amazon, Netflix, etc. I feel most people tend to rate things on the good side just to be nice. Unless it's really bad, then tank that score to a 0
Edit: Added another option, so you'll need to re-vote
Edit 2: Forgot another good option

Fluency: I like manga translation to read as if the author was native English speakers, so that linguistic and cultural differences are minimized. - votes: 3458 (26.4%)

Good luck to mattfabb on analyzing this data and writing a university-level paper.
This week's poll is a bit different. Instead of just being fun and games, a member named mattfabb requested that we run this poll for a university research project. It's not the usual way to do a statistical study, but hey, it's an easy way to reach a bunch of scanlation readers who actually might answer the poll. If you got comments on your choice, post them here!

Just as fire has amazed mankind since the beginning of the caveman, so would the modern man be able to shoot fire out of his finger tips. That and magic is OP
This poll from hirukayuki01 focuses on the primary class you would choose if you were in an RPG. I purposely chose specific classes and didn't include the hybrids like paladins, monks, bards, etc. Just choose from that small list. And I stuck with the more fantasy-type classes, so no engineers. And I guess archer could fold into thief, but I wanted that distinction between melee and range...

I'm surprised by whoever chose the reading together option. You'd have to wait for the other person to finish the page before you could move on. Sucks to be the faster reader
This week's poll by animgirl24 is about how you mix your hobbies with real life. People tend to gravitate to people with similar interests, so is manga one of those interests? Do you talk about manga with your friends?
