This poll is going off an old poll of "How long can you last without a computer?" I don't really like any of the current suggestions for a new poll, so I went off an old one... Let's try and suggest more manga/anime-related ones!
You can discuss this poll at our forums here:

You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related):

We've recently had reports of users maliciously adding incorrect series data. If series information looks constantly incorrect (even after you change it yourself), then please either post in this thread, PM me (lambchopsil) personally, or file a Change Request via the User CP.
Examples of malicious information are:
Wrong and in appropriate series images
Taking off all non-English names off a series (like the original Japanese one)
Releases suddenly get deleted
Wrong categories
Gibberish in the series description

For the first time, this poll is a combination of suggestions from multiple people: comel, FormX, and ShadowSakura. Instead of snowing only around Christmas, I chose to make it more general.

The purpose was to get you thinking about your parents.
Happy Thankgiving to you all~
Due to all the online sales, I bought around $400 of stuff.
So I was thinking about Thanksgiving, which is upcoming in the USA, so why not have a poll about thanking and showing appreciation toward your parents? Maybe this poll will get you thinking about your parents and what they've done for you. (I hope they raised you well). Even if you're a grown man, your parents will still remember when you were a child, so there's no shame in hugging them.

Well, it was slightly early to have this poll, but Black Friday and Cyber Monday are right around the corner! Cheap prices for great gifts! Still though, I'm saddened by the number of people who don't give any gifts at all (well, perhaps you don't celebrate Christmas, but you could still give gifts to show some appreciation~)
From ANN:
Manga creator AKAMATSU Ken (Mahou Sensei Negima!, Love Hina) announced on Monday that he is launching a "J-Comi" website that will eventually post out-of-print manga for free with advertising support. He is working with DEGUCHI Ryusei (Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade) and other fellow manga creators, in part to deal with the current situation of manga being scanned and uploaded without authorization.
Under the proposed plan, the site will distribute out-of-print manga with the creators' permission and with advertising. The advertising revenues will then be split among the creators. The site will use PDF (Portable Document Format) files without DRM (digital rights management).
A beta version of the site will launch on November 26 with 14 volumes of Akamatsu's hit manga Love Hina, and the site will tally the number of downloads and clicks as a test of the business model. The site will formally launch on January 10, 2011. Akamatsu will post more information on the official J-Comi blog and on his own Twitter account.
FullArmageddon writes: Digital Manga Guild (DMG) is looking to legitimize scanlations by teaming up with Japanese publishers that will provide thousands of manga titles to be translated by people like you, anyone that can translate, edit, or typeset. You can register either as a group or individual. If you register as an individual, you will be given a title to either translate, edit, or typeset (whatever you registered to do) as a test to make sure you are up to standards. If you register as a group, you will be given a title to translate, edit, and typeset. If you qualify, you will be given more titles to work on. The revenue will then be split three ways; to you, the Japanese publisher, and to DMG. For more information, check out the site and watch the video:
