Realistic and gritty

If an actual giant-bug induced apocalypse ever actually happened(shudders), I could absolutely see it going down like this. There are no super powered, hyper intelligent teenagers who grew up in a dojo but a 30 something father who went to engineering school. And the author's done his research. As an engineering student, I appreciate the lack of star trek mumbo jumbo.

And every character is fleshed out. Even some random character with just two panels dedicated to them feels unique and alive. There are no homogenized factions. No big bad evil military oppressing people, but a military that's filled with assholes, with heroes and people conflicted over the struggle to survive and doing the right thing.

All in all, an amazing read. Hope they make a tv series out of it.

Likable MC, and there's an actual plot, not just bug-monsters

There's two main pros in this manga that makes it much better than other apocalypse-themed series:
1. MC is an adult and family man - husband and father, not some brainless idiocy-fueled high schooler. Reminds me of Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead TV-series. They had to go thru similar 'evolution' of their personality, just to save their family.
2. Besides sudden appearance of giant bugs that are killing people, this manga has an actual plot, furthermore it's complicated, coherent and consistent.

Very good indeed

Ay first glance it seems like another zombie apocalypse with giant insects but it's much more than that. It actually has originality, sudden plot turns, creativity, it's interesting to read. It's not just run from monsters/loot stuff/be very scared as usual. Characters are great too, I loved how the MC evolves from nice office worker to a guy who'd torture his victim for not answering a question instantly, and his crew is interesting to watch too.
Definitely recommended for those who like good challenging stories.

Resident Evil meets Insect horror

I am mainly doing this as a response to the only other review. The series is good, period. None of the characters you care about are straight archetypes, new elements get thrown in at regular intervals, and the visuals are quite nice. The only problem I had was with
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the frankly ridiculously smart insects doing their kamekaze thing with artillery shells
but other than that the series is pretty well rounded. Oh, and the webtoon is released by line webtoon which is a subsidiary of naver, the official korean webtoon site. So it gets released reliably.

Another generic Apocalyptic plot

There nothing really special about this webtoon. I don't like how people in the webtoon are idiots and no common sense. It seems like the author doesn't know how to write the psychological element in this webtoon because we don't see the progression of people when they are at their breaking point. He just writes about it because you just need it for this kind of genre.

At the end of the day, I'll still read this webtoon because I like the apocalyptic genre. So far it's been okay, but it's not a webtoon where you will check for updates.
