I love this manga, it unintentionally got me into mahjong (lmao).

The audio drama with Shimono Hiro (which is actually how I discovered this) is also lovely.

Things might be a liiiittle non-consentual, but that's kinda to be expected for this era of BL, as long as you're aware it's there I think it's a good time.

Momo is super cute, Yata caring for Momo is super cute, the sex is hot, everything is great. Solid read.

Despite everything, it's still a passable piece if you delete the comedy genre when reading.

It seems to me that this was supposed to be his first psychological manga, and it seems to me that the author really held back and definitely didn't show us everything he wanted. It's a really serious topic and since it was his first work, I think it was heavily censored by the editor and he had to write it in a more friendly way. Especially since the "psychological" genre is completely missing. Hence the comedy genre, which was supposed to make the story a bit funnier. Especially since he wrote really good psychological manga "afterwards" under other editors.

Good story, but I absolutely hated the sex scenes. I'm not really into smut so I guess I'm the wrong audience, but to me most of the sex scenes were not consensual. Even when it started out as consensual the main character, numerous times, begged his partner to stop but there's the whole thing about Yata being too big and having a neverending sex drive, which is the most boring trope there is, and even if Momo wants to have sex from the start and does orgasm it is NOT consensual once he asks Yata to stop (and no it's not part of the sex/role playing). Also, Momo is traumatized from sexual abuse and his boundaries are already kinda blurred. I get that it's kind part of the genre but it turned me off from a otherwise good story. I do not like Momo and Yata together, the later one is possessive. I'm usually pretty open to characters having bad traits or acting immoral but this rubbed me the wrong way.
With that said,I finished the whole thing because Harada does have a very unique and poignant storytelling.

Sweet and warm, but irritating sometimes

Harada-sensei’s works always drain my energy - this one has quite a heavy and poignant plot. At first, I was filled with pity for the uke as he had such a dark past, and I was amazed by how the seme’s deep love changed his life completely, I mean even the uke himself couldn’t believe he could be loved like that, let alone us readers. The fact that the seme treasures him unconditionally despite knowing all of his shameful parts is so precious and heart-warming.
However, I wish I had seen more of their relationship’s development, because they started so fast and carelessly, it would have been nice if there had been some turning points of their love. Also, I didn’t enjoy the unbearably frustrating mess (with extras) with his old sugar daddy either, I read because of the main couple, not the unwanted past.

After reading the plot I wasn't all that drawn to this work, and I put off starting it for a long time. Today I was bored and said "why not? I'll stop if it gets icky"... boy was I wrong. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERYTHING about the story, the characters, the art, the way the difficult topics were handled; by the end, I was already in tears and rethinking my life. Definitely became my favorite manga.

This ain't a quick read-and-forget fluffy kind of manga; it's really cute and heartwarming (maybe not that realistic regarding some matters, though), but it's also heavy and emotional. It will make you laugh, cry, smile, go awww (maybe even squeal cough), get angry, get horny, and most importantly, reflect on life and happiness.

BOTTOMLINE: 100% recommended if you're ready for a beautiful mix of raw emotions, smut and life.

Come for the Smut, Stay for the Heartbreak

The story as it is now has made a complete 180 from the first chapter and it's beautiful in everyway.

Harada's works are very heavy, and this one is no exception. It is very graphic and rape is introduced more than one time so prepare yourself for that. The story itself is very deep as are the characters which we see more of as the volumes progress.

Also as I'm commenting I don't see many warnings for CHILD ABUSE and CHILD RAPE so just be wary, it is a very sad story, but it does get better and it does give weight to Momo's behavior and helps progress the relationship between himself and Yatta.

Fyi the sex between main characters is consensual 90% of the time (in case you're like me and don't mind rape in the story as long as it's not between the main pairing that's supposed to be "in love" do we have a tag for that? I think we should).

Despite how dark and upsetting it can be (and I much prefer slice of life), I still look forward to every time it updates; it is a gem in the sea of crappy yaoi stories.

If you want to see Yata-chan's big dick, read this.

Kidding aside, I read the previous comment thinking the art style was going to be bad (like having faces that don't really convey the proper emotion, or an unrealistic body proportion, or just plain ugly) but when I read it, I actually like the art; specially the anatomical structures of their body.

And no, I'm not kidding, Yata-chan's dick is really impressive. His performance too. lol.

if you want a hardcore no censor yaoi porn with fleshed out characters, this manga is definitely up to your alley. Don't forget to read the categories section here though so you'd know what to expect. Also, having read the highlighted categories here, you'll be sure not feel down that this manga might turn out into a tragedy or a dramatic one at that...

if you can get past the rape and gang rape scenes (to which either you'll feel ok with since this is just a manga, or you'll feel pissed with how the raped character takes the rape so lightly)

Overall, this is just what I need when I want a yaoi porn quick fix that packs a good storyline... check out the prequel after and you'll appreciate the character dynamics here.

a slice of life story

Yeah the art was so NOT my taste, but the sex scenes were good even if they were censored.
Hmm so about the story....i pitied Momo, he didnt value himself at all. He looked like a kid but was 24. Yata was nice and kind, possesive, protective, but he was crazy in bed.
I kinda would have wanted if it had more chapters,,not coz it was so great, but it felt somehow not complete, that kinda weird feeling....
Anyway i liked that it was slice of life, it was serious,pervy,sad,funny.
----Added after finishing the sequel chapters; i was shocked when i saw that Yatamomo got more chapters, so i had to reread it. Uwaaa now it felt more completed than before!!~ they got a happy ending. It wasnt the best story ever, but it had its interesting and charming parts. I even started liking the art at the end. A deep story that touches ur heart. Still wtf Yata and his endless sex drive xD
