Description
In an RPG-esque world where people's positions in society are decided at birth, Tolza is a "subjugator" who's on a quest to defeat the demon king. He meets and teams up with various people during his adventures, though the dangerous nature of their world means that many of them die. However, as a subjugator Tolza possesses a special ability which he keeps secret at all cost: he gets stronger every time one of his companions dies.

Game elements done right

The thing I like the most about this series is how it addresses the common tropes in the stories about the hero vs demon lord with some game mechanics. How comrades come and go, how the hero is balanced against the demon lord, what it means to be the chosen one - this series had a refreshing spin on these ideas that was solidly based in how the game mechanics affected society. The mechanics themselves were great too - some basic principles, and then characters (as in other than just MC and co.) exploiting them to reach beyond their limits. This is the kind of game world that people - not NPCs - live in.

Totally
Incomparably
Terrific
Series

Drawings are stylish, though action scenes could have been made better. Even though the setting is supposed to be dark, it somehow seems cheesy at times... But overall it's OK (maybe even great).
Lots of characters, some more distinguished than others, but everyone has something to them to make paying attention worthwhile.

Have red in parts with large gaps in-between, so not so sure about pacing.

Overall - entertaining, can recommend.

Right up my lane

Though the heavy influence of RPGs annoys me, and the plot of quickly killing everyone at one shot is kinda old, the manga is interesting. Of the main character's job and how he fights and all. I read it on mangareader, and the first chapter was the 6th, so I felt like it needed more background info of the place. How they get their jobs (which I learnt much later on that it was assigned by birth) and the meaning of the layers. Besides the 'big brother is watching' theme I don't get much background.

Give it a shot if you like quick killing, but downside is the badly drawn gore.

Its a good plot great characters and super art. But it just goes too far in trying to be unique, having good charcters and then killing them off for the sake of forcing a tragedy and gore just to be unique. Sorry but its not my cup of tea. Also killing off good characters so easly gets old fast realy fast.

Same with Thisnameisn'tchosen. I'm also tired with the demon lords etc. However, this same it's own sparkle and twist that i rarely see on mangas. I donno what will happen as ending for this and cast of characters will only grew as the story progresses.

The plot itself is very unpredictable or rather very flexible that i can actually imagine too many endings. And literally this is the nearest to what i want, the "because-i'm-the-only-one-but-i-don't-want-to" kind of plot, but he's not the only one so yeah. As i have said earlier, eventhough the story does have elements common to other stories around there, this one sparkles due to what twist and certain elements this shows. The manga don't shy away from killing characters yet gives a good character development for them. So don't get attached to any characters... Be prepared for suprise blood bath later on... Just like other books who have those element biggrin

As for the main character himself, as of now, the plot is leading me to wonder what character growth the author wants for the character! He seems is cold but have burst of emotions that says he didn't want it. A reluctant hero trying to cope with his situation.

Art is very good for me! I can indifferent them easily, the sequence is understandable and through the small battle scene shown... movements are not that quite shown so i can't give full review yet. Gore is ok, but quite weird because their inners look so much like squishy something... No bones since i think.... but still ok.

Art is above average. Plot is a little bad (maybe only with me, I'm tired of these Demon Lord, Hero, MMORPG), but the way the author execute the plot is good, not to mention the male lead. He is a cold bastard and I like it.
