The Madhouse anime is well done and has beautiful animation but ended with a gecko ending that offered no real resolution so i immediately looked up the manga and read it in one sitting. The show got fairly serious as it went along and the slice of life story gave away to one of social revolt. The originating manga turns a more violent and ultimately dark corner fairly fast along the road and even features tasteful but surprisingly graphic sex that i didn´t see coming. I liked the Real Robot meets School Life crossover in act 1 but the transition to a borderline Kenrou Densetsu tale went over smoothly and i overall prefer the 2nd and 3rd acts.
Rin is a strong leading lady and her "terrorist" love interest is equality complex. The sketchy art is just my thing and all the technical designs are very elaborate and memorable. Tetsuro is a quality talent in the making even if he only writes about robots and was recently chosen to draw the prestigious Atom - The Beginning (8,5/10). Every fan of 20 Seiki Shounen (10/10) or serious Seinen dramas should try this manga and let´s hope that it leaves Japan in a completed form one day.

A semi-mecha kind of set up that I can actually get behind.

Except that oppressive government stories and naive protesters just make me sad. Glad that only 7 chapters were scanlated.
