I'm only going to be commenting on the Hayashida and Shuuna stuff because Yumi has the bulk of his story in Sabita Yoru Demo Koi Wa Sasayaku. The actual relationship between Kan-chan and Shuuna starts as a separate story in Renai Rubi no Tadashii Furikata, and I feel like similar vibes carry over from what happened there into this continuation manga. There's just a very "let's enjoy what moment exists right now" feel to it all.
I love Kan-chan because despite his foul-manner, he's a very caring person who's gone through some things and the whole
All the flashbacks to his past are extra sad, because you can see the carefree innocence of Kan and Yumi in their highschool days.
Bless Shuuna for sticking with Hayashida through like all of the stuff, there's probably a few moments where he says some things he really ought not to, but it feels like he genuinely loves Hayashida.

reflecting on the physical abuse he brought upon Yumi and y'know trying not to repeat that with Shuuna

The guy is definitely caught up in his head most of the time, so it's nice to see moments during the sexy times where he's just being a horny idiot who's just enjoying the dick he's getting, like no cap.All the flashbacks to his past are extra sad, because you can see the carefree innocence of Kan and Yumi in their highschool days.

I first read this when I was young. I didn’t understand the many thoughts, feelings, process or growth of the characters and I labelled Hayadashi as a very bad person. And my opinion of him hasn’t changed, he is still a bad person and he himself knows the most. I think that’s why it was understandable that he didn’t wish to redeem himself in the eyes of Yumi, and wanted to remain a bad person, so he can appreciate his new relationship with Shuuna.
I was this story out of Order, it I really enjoy it. The author stated in comment section about The uke (who was a seme in azami) and why he was an uke in the last story and he still the same in this story. The author is giving more inside to his story. More of his thoughts. The characters are still fun. The characters are charming and got some complexity to them which I enjoy. I really enjoy this story.

I don't like that they turned Ken-chan, who was a seke(mostly seme), into an exclusive uke. There should've been at least some hinting of him wanting to top sometimes. Also, somehow he turned masochist out of guilt? I just liked him better as a top/reversible.

i randomly picked this up out of the blue and was super confused at first lol. that being said i think i mostly have a grip on the plot, although i will go back and read the prequels so i can get more clarity.
this is interesting because it's the first time i've seen an uke character being the one perpetrating the domestic violence, usually it's the other way around. it's just as disturbing either way and i hope the mangaka continues with this route of the character seeking absolution and forgiveness. what kan did to yumi was absolutely abhorrent and unforgivable, but as we see it is possible for kan to recover and reflect and become a changed man. i just hope the change is fully maintained and we don't see kan beat up on shuuna and then be easily forgiven, that will make the whole tone of the story become cheap (we did see kan curb his violence toward himself, which still needs addressing)
edit: So as promised, the past issues come to a head and the way kan-chan addresses them and talks about them make me really satisfied. Kan-chan knows that it's unproductive to try and "fix" the past, as much as Shuuna loves him, because the past cannot be fixed. He knows what he's done and he needs the constant reminder that he's done wrong in order to stay grounded and not go back to that life. I understand this sentiment and love the development between the main couple once this is addressed. Now I'd only wish Kan-chan to learn that he doesn't need to physically harm himself in the process, which seems to be happening. A daily reminder is enough.

Story about Shuuna and Kan. To understand Kan better I strongly recommend reading first other positions.
