Could have been better.

I only just finished this and I feel like it it's very unbalanced.

Plot- It was unique and interesting to read, but I often got discouraged to drop it... because despite all the politics put into it to make it dramatic, it was definitely not dramatic enough for me to keep flipping the pages. What I think was lacking was some good slow pace to set the story and the setting for the manga. The world building felt rushed or it was just crammed in a few chapters all at once and you never know what is the whole purpose of the characters and the manga.

Characters- The relationships between the characters was good, I especially enjoyed Alexid and Euti's and Alexid and the King's (brother) relationship. Characters were definitely a contributing factor to rating the manga a bit higher.

Overall, the manga is kinda unique in terms of its own intriguing world building, but this was not developed enough so it just remains flat as it is. There is no clear purpose or point to the story advancement- it starts off with Alexid as the 'Black Demon' that has to marry the enemy country's princess. Once that's done and over with, there is little to no explanation to where the manga will advance past that point. It just kinda roves around to make it past the page per chapter limit (which I still don't understand, why are there so many pages for each chapter? Given this the manga should have been planned for better story telling..) and the ending is... was confusing and feels unresolved. I didn't even understand how the King somehow magically recovered from his serous illness and I guess, somehow that ends it and Adarshan is in good hands.
It's very focused on the political conflicts of Adarshan and border countries, so if you're into that, go ahead and read it. If you're coming for some shoujo or romance, you will find this manga lacking.

6.5/10 Would generally not recommend. It could have been better as the whole concept was already amusing, but it never developed past that, so I guess it was alright.

Cute, but disappointing

The characters and overall concept were interesting, and I especially liked the groom's reaction to learning about and meeting his child bride, which was pretty much how any normal 20-year-old would react to a 10-year-old wife, not to mention how most of us reacted at first! ^^; Although I don't like how the artist sometimes drew the princess as 6 years old instead of 10, I'm glad the author acknowledged the awkwardness of the age gap and had the king explain why he wanted this particular princess as part of the treaty. Really, I had hoped to see the couple's relationship grow over a few years, but the plot lacked a climax and denouement, which was too bad because the story basically ended right as it was getting interesting.

Yes I love the romance between them, I never thought it'll work out so well, I put off this manga in the first place for that reason. At the end, there's too much talk about kingdoms, I got tired and bored, I'm just not into this, those that like imperial stuff might be. I was more interested in the romance I love it so dearly, just that the end wasn't satisfying, well good to know they'll lead a nice and happy life <.< man I wish they fast forwarded to when she becomes older, oh then the romance would be so great! I love the drawing by the way, especially the female characters, ALL. SO. BEAUTIFUL

The ending was... The ending.. It absolutely didn't reach anywhere... I don't understand... Art was not great.. Pretty lifeless.

(Spoiler has beginning to end)
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
war is going on band there is this bastard child that so happens to be a great general at war.. His half brother is the crowned prince.. The bastard hold is hated by all, but his brother still cherishes him and arranged a very profitable marriage for him.. The problem is the girl is so damn young it's like adopting a child instead.. She also hates him for killing her special knight....
As time goes on he becomes a sadder entity in the castle and she starts becoming softer towards him.. His teacher and guardian that he loves betrayed him and tried to kill him and his brother shortly after his marriage fell ill.. Everyone is now trying to take advantage of him and he decides to step up from the shadows to protect his brothers place. But he is now in the main part of being brainwashed to do things... I guess that all there is in the story.

Extra: a shirt story about the girl wanting to make snowmen.. And how they ended up making a flower one together..

Lacks followthrough

Would be a ten but the story feels incomplete. I love the characters. The prince and king are especially adorable. The plot... Well, lets just say that the author gave a decent setup that begs to be continued...into a story. It's lack of follow through demotes this story. To at least an 8. sad

i cant understand the sentences, to me they are pretty confusing. i dont understand the feelings or the intentions behind the words, i dont know whether it is due to translation or the mangaka itself. the panelling also do not help in understanding. so im putting it on hold.

Great non-romantic shoujo

The problem a lot of people have with shoujos that don't focus on romance... is that there's no enough romance. But that's the point of the series. The series is supposed to focus on the inner conflicts of the prince - and the friendship/family bond he forms with his 10 year old princess. It's not meant to be a romance (I'd be worried if it was, considering the age gap...)! And I personally love it the way it is. I wish it was longer (because the little scenes where Justinia tries to help her husband is adorable) and I wish the author/artist made more this...

I really like the personalities of the characters, and how FINALLY there's a manga with a royal family whose siblings don't want to kill each other for the throne. The brothers relationship-tho not brought out that much-was one of my fav parts. I really like where this is going, and would LOVE to read the novels-which included the sequals to this. -HintHint- Anyone?

Interesting premise but failed to fulfill

I finally decided to read this story, hearing that the story was quite unique. I agree, it is a unique read and as a whole concept is good, however… I couldn’t enjoy it as fully as I wanted to.

Plot- The plot in itself is a good one, there are many interesting factors in it that helped set up a great premise for a story, however it fell quite flat for me. While there were some very good ideas they were all very rushed in the short span of the manga, and while good could have been much better if a slower pace had been set.

Characters- Each of the character’s were intriguing in their own ways, and the relationships between the character’s were all very interesting, however with the quick pace everything between them seemed very rushed and the emotions could never be full developed.

Art- The art is all right, sometimes it’s a little awkward but on a whole it’s pleasant enough to look at and does its job at conveying the story.

Other- There are some really sweet scenes, and on a whole the manga was interesting enough. However there was more political intrigue then romantic advancement, so if you want to read a romance story, go elsewhere. I wish the manga had been longer, taking more time to fully develop the plot, the characters and their relationships. As it stands the manga is enjoyable enough, but remains simple and only mediocre and lacking at times. Read the manga? If you’re interested in political drama then read it if interested in not… then you probably shouldn’t.

5/10- Was all right

Too short, but adorable

This is one of the few manga I wish had been longer. Usually I don't want them to drag on, but as others have said there seemed to be room for a lot more plot development. However, the story is adorable and is definitely worth reading. It was a warm and fuzzy type that can make you smile.
