It's sort of like trying to shove Bleach into just 4 volumes. There's too many characters and the basis of the plot is just too large for 4 volumes. Not sure if it was axed or whatever, but I can see why it was.
I guess I'll spoiler tag this info. Although I don't give away any so called spoilers, but just to be safe.
I'll give it a 4 because the idea behind the plot was interesting. Sort of reminded me of Taboo Tattoo without the ecchi.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The main character Kei, well the supposed main character after volume 1 becomes non-existent so it's hard to really flesh out his character much. Not something I would call wise if he's supposed to be the main character.
This is more like a bunch of smaller side stories of different people affected with the mysterious power and how they react to it.
I guess the author planned for it to last longer, because the whole Hikaru disappearance is touched upon only once in volume two and as Kei is tied into it of course.
Volume three is what I pointed out earlier. The other various characters ordeal with the power. That's it. No advancement with how volume 2 ended one bit.
I can't even imagine how this will be wrapped up in one volume, but I can already foresee a disaster ending where not much is explained as it just 'ends'.

The horror designation is a little misleading, the series is not scary at all, but instead, it's level of violence is on par with some shounen manga, just a few non-grotesque deaths. The atmosphere is also not very dark, in fact, the characters themselves joke about how the rules are similar to those of an adventure video game. Personally, I find this series to be very enjoyable so far and there are lots of potential, so I hope you'll enjoy this as well!
