Wasted potential
by villasan

Rating: 5.0  / 10.0
Just recently I read the Light Novel until chapter 11 and the only thing I can say you without spoilers is:
Character development in this manga/novel is awful and mostly non-existent, such as predictable behavior as if every single character exist only to fulfill an specific role within the plot. Then, everything just works for MC no matter how convenient it seems (Typical Shounen manga archetype).
It tends to be boring sometimes because story telling pace is exasperating slow with unnecessary focus explaining second character's personas (heavily cliche personas btw) with enormous ellipsis between scenes, leaving the audience hungering for details about World Building, economics, culture, political structure, etc, etc.

Summary: In my opinion, this manga had enormous potential as a Seinen manga teasing a bit of mature/realistic content now and then (According to medieval context and how crude society is in Wortenia's world), but it seems publishers in Japan didn't liked the idea and forced the author to keep it as shounen (suggar-coated) as possible...

Dropped at chapter 6

The MC,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
upon being summed to the new world, proceeds to kill everyone who was in the summoning room, then proceeds to con himself into the infirmary, where he kills the non-combatant medical staff in cold blood after torturing them for information before escaping.
Did I mention was a high-school student who had never killed anyone prior to being summoned? He'd been trained by his grandpa into being a murderous sociopath, and what better way to start off your body count than massacring innocent people?

You can't really expect me to regard an MC as a good guy protagonist when the first thing he does is kill the innocent. Oh, he "sensed their malice"? You mean when there were guards in the room ready to act if the summonee was hostile? What on earth could they have been thinking...?

As I said, dropped at chapter 6, I don't care about anyone in this dumpster fire.

It's easy to read and engaging ,but the sanctions miss too many pages and the manga itself glosses over some parts .The combination of these two things makes you miss some parts of the story .

One word: SHIT.

This manga/web novel combo is an absolute shitfest in terms of pacing and character designs. I have literally put the novel on hold for YEARS due to it's slow pacing only to finally check on it today to see that the MC is still stuck in the second arc of the story. He has literally been stuck (thanks to the retarded author) dealing with the same shit from the same douchebaggy people since I last read in 2016! As for this manga, it has been 3 frikking years and we are still on chapter f**king 25 which translates to roughly the end of the first book of the novel...what. the. F**K. Everything to do with this series is a heaping, steaming, rancid, festering, titanic-in-proportion mountain of shit and I wish there was an amnesiac pill I could take to forget I ever gave this filth a chance all those years ago.

Just skips around to action scenes, narrative is completely disjointed
by bobIV123

I've never seen something just outright ignore the underlying narrative and skip around to action scenes. One minute this guy is at a border crossing a forest, then next he's travelled two months through a desert, the next chapter he's suddenly in a port town. Also, characters are introduced and are immediately familiar with the main cast out of nowhere.

It doesn't even make an inkling of sense because the action isn't really that good, it's pretty generic combat (the type where very little actual fighting is drawn) and the work doesn't build suspense well, so it feels like you're just being shuttled between mediocre fights.

There's a fair amount of inconsistent and/or unjustified character behavior and attitudes as well.

If this was written better, it could at least be a fairly generic manga, but as it is, I not only cannot recommend it, I must even advise against reading it at all.

Quite good so far

I don't know what rule YuriM talks about but I'd say that so far the story and world building has been coherent and consistent. Story is the classic isekai but the MC is neither a retard nor an unbeatable character which is how many isekai go, he's actually an interesting character. I admit his moral facility to kill of the bat is dubious but that is somewhat explained and is after all presented in ch1 so it's an inherent part of the char and not something that contradict what he's been presented as before so I'm ok with it, I actually find it more hard to swallow how good a strategist he is, I don't think the other characters are stupid at all, and there are quite a few crafty ones so I find it more hard to believe that a modern Japan's guy would know so much about war, his fighting skills are explained but there was no mention to him having strategic education along his martial one. Plot wise I find it quite interesting so far thou it's too soon to tell, I particularly like the approach of the MC striving to make his tale and not accepting how the roles are dealt, most Isekai would just have the MC tag along with whoever summoned them. Also the progression after his escape make sense and don't feel forced. What I don't like is the harem subplot (so far only sub) but at least the women don't just fall for him just because he's the MC.
All in all, it's too soon to tell but it's good thus far and looks promising.

Edit: I don't know what this guy above me is on about, it's the most common thing in manga for there to be a time-skip and a scenery change, how is that inconsistent? are you supposing he stayed waiting to be followed in the border for 2 month? or what would be even more boring, to have the artist draw 60 days of a guy walking through the dessert with maybe nothing happening at all, how ridiculous is that. After the desert he returns to a city which happens to be a port town, again, no lack of logic no cohesion, there is no manga that doesn't change scenery, not even movies are that continuous and jump from one scene, place and time to another.
On the other hand, the second arc does have pacing issues and chooses to not getting into details at some parts, for example, when Ryouma wins two certain people to his side, the manga dedicates 1 panel to the event and doesn't explain how he did it, the novel goes about it for several chapters. Just to get an idea, Ryouma's inner dialogues are about 1/4 (if not more) of.the content of this arc in the novel, there is none in the manga. I'm guessing the artist thought it would be too much text and boring for the manga. Like that it changed quite a bit of material which has more weight in the novel and is also less mature.

The series starts with certain quite specific rule of this parallel world.
...And completely forgotten about it after few chapters, going toward some strange politic issues.

Good Premise, but Mediocre Plot After Rebellion Arc
by ayami123

I mean really, It's like a Modern Guy with all the Knowledge of the Desert Fox Rommel, Great Conde, Fredrick the Great, Han Xin and Sun Tzu, to the Stone Age, well technically it's Medieval But well,

Their Brains are like Stone Age People too Stupid.
No wonder the kid is like a Genius to them.
What can I say it's basically a Web Novel a Fan Novel I assumed.

It's Premise is actually good, I could endure the Rebellion arc and the Country Creation are,
But in the Invasion Arc it's pretty dull.
oh well i'm still in volume 5 of the novel biggrin maybe this will change in the future

35% of users rated this manga a 10/10.

Not sure why this is rated so highly at 7.73 (at the time of writing) when the pacing is off putting along with a pretty generic plot. You're following along the story and suddenly there's a 2 month time skip followed by a 2 day time skip.

Protagonist is a 16 year old high schooler.
He's been trained by a grandpa in "one hit kill" swordsmanship.
Has no qualms about killing people so that's why it's probably rated higher than others in this genre with wussy MCs.
Obligatory medieval fantasy world with magic and slaves.

With 10 chapters read, I'd say it's closer to a 7 than an 8 and that I think Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi is more interesting than this manga.

While writing this I've noticed that it's only been rated 63 times so that would explain it since those searching for more isekai type manga are already fans of the genre so it'd be more skewed to a higher rating.

when i began to read this i was like " another Transported to Another World novel", but I was wrong!!
This is a decent and good story, It´s not perfect, but this main character is not overpowered!! there is not any God or Goddess giving him superpowers or some cheat power!! he wasn´t betrayed and because of that became some demonic emo with some super magic or something!! there is not One punch man syndrome here!! and besides he is not some princess guy!!

he was just a guy trained in martial arts and mortal skills in Japan!! He was transported to another world, where he will be turned in a slave to fight in a war!! What did he say? hell no!! lets get out here!!

check out the Light novel too!!
