Easy and basic

Typical shoujo, honestly. It's nothing special, but I like the art a lot - Izumi is just so pretty to look at, regardless of what form s/he's in, and Hikaru is adorable. There isn't much of an ongoing plot thread, and none of the characters really have depths (which is too bad, because we get hints of an interesting history from some of them that are never expanded on), but it's good for a light, easy read. Like others have said, the ending does seem a little abrupt; I kind of got the feeling that the mangaka wasn't sure where the story was going, and she just took the opportunity to end things before she started to get lost.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Going into it, expect the mostly typical shoujo trope of all men being rapists and that being totally okay. The manga basically starts with Izumi stripping Hikaru's unconscious body and taking pictures of her topless, then using said photos to blackmail her. (Hikaru literally sneaks out every night afterwards to sleep elsewhere because she is rightfully terrified of being alone and vulnerable with Izumi.) There's also two different men later on, who after being rejected pursue their respective love interests doggedly, usually with clear intent to sexually assault - not to mention the creepy director who sends his female underlings bikinis to wear to a wrap party. Every time something happens as well, its never shown to be the man's fault - it's the girl's, for being 'too trusting'.

^ Let me just say that this is really typical shoujo fare; it didn't bother me my first few readthroughs, but now that I've read enough really good shoujo, finding this aspect here bothered me a lot, and every time it came up it took me out of the experience of reading it.

All that being said though, I would give this a shot - it's not very long, and you can pretty much tell from the first volume whether this is something you would enjoy reading. Even though this wasn't as great as I'd remembered, I had fun going through this again and basically binged it in one night 🙂

What a Drag

This manga was actually quite a fun read even though it was far from perfect. Whilst I loved the main characters I felt like there could have been a bit more depth to both of them. I also felt like the series could have gone on for at least another volume or two, it ended just when things seemed to have been very shaken up and could have been interesting to see the events span out. I would have also loved for more character development for the side characters, I feel, though a few got some good recognition, that a lot of them were very glossed over. Even the characters pasts are somewhat glossed over, as if the author didn't truly have a firm grasp on story telling yet. Some examples of this came from Izumi's helper (whose name I have already forgotten) who was a dear friend, we find out some of his past but it's resolved quite quickly and I would have liked to have seen more depth from his character. There was also a cousin introduced whose position and reason for being there seems all but useless now. There was also the male comedy duo characters that could have used with a bit more spotlight. Basically, in this manga, almost everything revolved around the main, which isn't the greatest of story telling, even when other people were going through their own problems, again, Hikaru would be involved in some form or another. Besides all this and a lackadaisy ending, it was somewhat entertaining to read.
I do also have to commend it for it's somewhat different portrayal of stereotypical gender roles in shoujo manga. Emphasis on somewhat though, as, despite their appearances, they still fall into the sterotypical gender portrayels mentally.

One of the best reads ever! The characters are unpredictable, very different from the usual shoujo stereotypes. The story is light but very heartwarming. On of the best shoujos I've encountered ever.

thought it would be a nice reversal from the girl in disguise mangas that have generally been good but boy...it starts off weird which left a bad taste in my mouth throughout, even during the little good this series has.

Sexual assault, how romantic
by Matic3d

This starts off with the love interest pushing the female protagonist down stairs and photographing her naked while she lies unconscious, then his henchman threatens her life with a sword to her throat and blackmails her with the nude photos. Later, he pins her down on a bed and tears her clothes off while threatening to rape her. This mean-spirited manga wallows in bullying and assault. This may work for some, sure there are many twisted love stories out there... but I think readers deserve to know what they are getting into, hence this comment.

I love the story's premise, and I just adore the guy that dresses up as a girl. He's too cute---although he can be psychopathic and severe (like when he sexually harassed the poor main character). His character was never really developed--except in terms of attractiveness (but who needs that? Humph. bigrazz ) The girl fell in love way too quickly and way too deeply with the other dude at the beginning, and I just simply cannot comprehend how.

(Perhaps it's because I firmly believe in the slow type of love)... I did enjoy seeing how she stood back up and got over him though. That was pretty inspirational.

I couldn't stand the one dimensional storytelling at many points throughout the series, but I kept reading because I loved the premise of having a cross-dressing celebrity right under the same roof. Ho ho ho. Also, many characters had no purpose and would just randomly appear--such as the hot butler/bodyguard guy. What is he even doing?

The art was good, but it would be awkward at times. I, for one, eventually got so tired of seeing the girl's crying face I would close my eyes and sigh when I see it. The problem with this manga was its never-ending series of drama and the girl's inability to solve them.

And because the author whipped through every arc so fast, I never had a chance to get attached to any of the characters. Not even my favorite guy. Come on now.

p.s. I feel like this author usually writes more R-rated manga because some of the parts throughout this series felt very....crude. Like, stripping people down and stuff. sad

Really Good

This is one of the few series i remember how it did end. i have read a lot of mangas and most endings are rushed or just hanging in there without any conclusion which makes me think what if scenarios and results in a barely remembered novel. reading this again after a few years i still took the same pleasure i did back then even when i knew where it was going. its a good story told in a good many words, doesn't drag and i like the art to boot too. All in all i happily give one of my few full marks for this manga and happily recommend it to any manga lover even if you are not into the shoujo gentre much.
One last word: if i have to say one thing negative about this manga, there are many time slips. it could have been easily two times longer with a full told story with nothing extra added. However mangaka is nice and you are tipped about what happened in this spaces between two chapters so its not that big of a deal (hence i didn't give any minus to the rating i gave)

It's way too short. The plot runs so fast that I felt unable to get into the characters' feelings (like the relationship between Hikaru and the teacher).

But I really liked the series, even if love triangles are not my thing - the personalities of the characters were exactly to my taste.

Here's the thing. I seriously, seriously thought that this is a yaoi even if it's not tagged as one. The girl protagonist is not in anyway romantically involved with the 2 main guys--at first. In fact, she even made comments early on that she suspects there is something going on with them. Haha. Now, I didn't mind if this thing turned out to be a yaoi, but for shoujo fans, don't worry, it's not yaoi.

The romance takes sometimes to develop, which I think is a nice change from the typical love-at-first-sight.

For people who are looking for showbiz manga, this is it. Although it doesn't go too much in depth into the working the business, but it's there. The plot revolves around the romance and the gender bending than the showbiz.

The art is absolutely wonderful. Truly beautiful.
