The story is underrated, because the MC of this story is very dark and self centered.
It consists of equal parts story telling, humor and action.
Not recommended if you have a stock up your a** and only like mainstream entertainment.

Pretty funny if you like the black humor but MC is trash worth less than 0.

As in title, main plot is typical isekai story with little time travel taste (send to another world, kill demon, save princess) not good, not bad just average. It would be pretty good to read if not MC which is complete moron and thrash as person, he don't respect life and has no value, typical sociopath. If we would replace MC with anybody else (probably there can't be worse) then I would give (7/10). World, monsters, and people are drawn pretty nice plus it full color.
Summarizing, if you like this kind of genre (isekai, time travel) and you don't mind what value represent MC then feel free to read, but if you can't stand stupid MC then it totally waste of time.

The dumb thing is that he was sent back in time because of the way he behaved previously, and he ends up acting even worse the second time around. This MC isn't an anti-hero, he's just a plain sociopath. Just look at his expressions when he's killing people. That tag needs to be removed. as the last reviewer said... "Morally gray characters" This dude is far from morally gray, he is pitch black. "I usually like smart characters" Did you even read the same thing as I did? Where exactly is this smart character you're talking about? Definitely not this guy that was sent back in time to learn from his mistakes and ended up just being twice as worse. He knows that the only way to be sent back to Earth is to behave at least somewhat according to what is expected, yet he just ignores that and does whatever he wants. He even has no idea what they will do if he fails their assessment again. He's a moron.

Then I think you'd be fine with this protagonist and like this story.
If you do not like morally gray characters that aren't full on goody two shoes, then I suggest you read other isekai ones like uh.. I dunno. Something else. Haha.
I usually like smart characters.

The theme of the manga is a parody of classic action/fantasy works: we have a baddass antihero protagonist who kicks asses with whatever means
So if you are looking for some "power of friendship" or "I have to save a world I don't have anything to do with" *cough* PZcolo *cough* this is not your match.
Also if you get reasonably tired of the loop plot, wich I am not since is higly original, there is going to be a turn point where it all converges into a main story (in wich the protagonist doesn't want to be involved *laughs*).
Also highly recommended is the novel.

even by killing his "friends" that would have been in his way

What can I say, the MC is a sociopath, a guy that enjoys murder, betrayal and so on, yeah, I would want to kill all the freaking people that were involved in summoning me to a fantasy world, but that's as far as I can sympathize. The author tries to justify this mentality with the game kind of mindset, that that reality ain't real to the MC but he ain't apathetic about the people in that world, they ain't irrelevant, instead he enjoys plotting murdering, lying and so forth just for the sake of it or a marginal benefit. I don´t find the MC's actions justified enough to put up with them, he's just a piece of sh*t..
As for the story... can't say I like it either, a "save the world from the demon" setting that became a personality correctional sim? An instructor that does nothing to the story or to the actual MC (when he goes on a killing spree), but wag her finger and so on... (I know what I say makes little sense but it does in the context of the story). The premise itself is pretty dumb too to be honest, another piece of sh*t (a presence) that kidnapped a guy from his normal life, a normal life, one where he wasn't apparently wicked (meaning he's too is a normal "centered" man) and when after his efforts to survive and go back he got twisted by the crap world he was thrown into (against his will, meaning that, lets say, he became ruthless and morally gray in order to cope with his new reality), that presence, god?, admonishes him for being a bad guy?... cut the crap, whatever he became it's thanks to that presence, you don't send an innocent to prison and when he comes out become surprised that he's more violent, it's expected, and it's the fault of the one who sent him to prison wrongly.
@Nickthequick actually I'm saying the same thing as you (I tried to edit the review and make myself a little clearer), I think that it makes no sense for him to get into that save the world morality and that the MCs loss of morality is not entirely his fault and is to some point justified. I just don't like an MC that enjoys murder, deception, treachery and so on, one thing is doing unmoral things to survive and another is to enjoy it.

Strong tone changes compared to the novel.
In the novel he is an apathetic(!), ruthless badass.
In the manga a leeching pervert.
But in the later chapter he finds back to his roots hopefully.
Story 11/10
Novel/Manga Character 10/10 | 7/10
