Description
From Storm in Heaven:

Mizuki is a girl who wants to run away from her life. As she smiles at everything sad that happens to her, her soul becomes heavier day by day. Her escape door is Adam, an English singer. But is he really real, or is everything they've been through just a dream? Adam sees his dead Japanese girlfriend in Mizuki, but strangely, nobody, apart from a girl who met her at the gates of heaven, can see Mizuki. This is a story that takes place somewhere between dream and reality.

delete Eva and I will be happy

The story
Four kids, I don’t know how old they were, 10 maybe, want to help a ghost to heaven. The ghost of a girl doesn’t have her memories (they named her Eva), but she does know she had a boyfriend “Adam”. It all started when the heroine, Hotaru almost died in an accident and meets her in heaven. Later she found her again in an abandoned house. Those, she and her friends started to look for her identity and solve mysteries within. There is some reincarnation involved too. The story is a bit predictable, because it took them too much time to solve something what was obvious. The kids are two boys and two girls and it had a romantic feeling, but the main romance was about Eva and Adam. A bit sad.

Art
hmm… nothing against Yazawa, but I really dislike if there is a photo made into background (what happens mostly in manhwa). She did this quite often. The kids looked cute however, a little bit too much details in eyes, but that is I guess her style. I wish she would do the backgrounds instead. But it is a fine art, readable.

Characters
Hated Eva, but the kids were fine. All of them. I liked that they changed through the story even when it was so short. Hotaru was a bit of a crybaby, but well, she was 10. And I loved that her love interest changed.

Enjoyment
Okay. Not the greatest from Yazawa. I would like to read the story with those kids again, but Eva was really a pain.

If only there were more shoujo romances like this!

At first, I was sure Kagen no Tsuki would turn out to be yet another version of Romeo and Juliet (only with added Japanese mysticism), but - to my great pleasure and surprise - this was definitely not the case.

Plot-wise it's worthy of ~6.5/10 - the twists, despite being nicely executed, were fairly predictable, and I knew halfway through the first volume itself who exactly Adam and "Eve" were to each other, but what really makes this manga special are the characters. Adam and "Eve" are your typical star-crossed lovers, but the four children (and their elementary-school crushes) were absolutely precious, the supporting cast was likeable, and the main couple redeem themselves spectacularly in the end by taking the exact opposite route that Romeo and Juliet did. I loved how the themes of friendship and family were subtly pushed forward, placing them on an even keel with romantic love among the things that bear a special significance in a person's life -- a simple truth that I never expect - though am always happy to see - in a romance book/show.

Tired of "love conquers all" but still in love with the romance genre? Like a bit of mystery and a dash of supernatural in your love stories? Have no objection to (sensible) child protagonists? Then Kagen no Tsuki's definitely worth your time.

I was amazed at how detailed and well-thought out this whole shoujo manga was! I was a little confused at first with why the girl was running away to be with this guy she barely knew and who he was, but the pieces of the puzzle quickly fell into place. The story was beautifully written and as always, Yazawa-sensei completely blew me away with this piece!

There is a movie that was adapted from this manga and has the famous Hyde in it. I hope to watch it soon and see how it is compared to this wonderful story!

This is a must read! It is tragic, but it is heart-warming and romantic; a story filled with friendship and true love.

I like Yazawa's works in general because she can draw persons and she can create characters which feel so realistic to me. Her way of telling stories is just great and the flow of this work was perfect. The length of the manga itself and of each chapter was exactly like I wanted it to be. I think Yazawa is a really amazing author and I hope she will start to draw, again.

Wow, just wow. embarrassed

I'm captivated by this. It was surreal. I had chills while reading this. It was so magnificent that it made me tremble.

Art: 10. I have been a fan of Yazawa-sensei for so long. There's something in her art that it makes the manga so realistic, so beautiful like it was a picture and by reading it makes the picture move. It's just amazing.

Characters: 10. Realistic. I've known people like that. Crazies about love. This manga welcomes the readers into the real world. Where people are serious, mature not like those other manga which will just make you think "Are they freaking aliens?"

Story: 10+. Wow. just wow. Refreshing, not your typical tragedy/psychological manga. The amount of chapters is just enough and the ending was genius. I always want to know how Adam feels through the entire manga.

YAZAWA Ai-sensei. Thanks for bringing us such masterpiece.

I thought the way the story was told was really nice, the way yazawa weaved all the characters together and interlocked their connections.
The overall atmosphere is dark and depressing, and the themes are realistic. The only downside is that its a bit confusing, as it is supernatural, and you're dying to find out the ends to the mystery. After reading more of Ai Yazawa's works, all i can say is that i love ai yazawa and really hopes that she gets better!
BTW for those who don't like tragic endings, don't worry because its not exactly tragic.. its happy but the theme is tragic.

Horrible. HORRRIBLE. i mean it was a good story & all dont get me wrong.. But this just gives you the most depressing kind of feelings after your done reading it. It tugs at your heart ;-;
This should be marked tragedy.. Don't read this unless your ready for a mysterious/tragic type of story.

When I read this manga, I wasn't expecting much since I only heard that the author wrote Nana and Paradise Kiss, which I didn't like them both much. But in this manga with a touch of supernatural and twists, it became a whole new level.

At first, I was a bit confused after reading the first chapter because of the shift of narration, but it did help with the great surprise that I was waiting for toward the end.

This was a wonderful manga by yazawa ai. I have enjoyed reading her works after i discovered nana. Yet out of all her works that i read so far none of them has touched me the way this one did. Even though it is sad it is not as tragic as her other works and made me feel...tranquil. It started perfectly and ended great. I'm happy to have stumbled upon this because this story really had me thinking and i could truly empathize with the plot. It has its beautiful and tearful moments and i recommend it. This is one of the few manga i have enjoyed to read and one that has truly touched my heart. pure brilliance. Oh...if only it gave some kind of future hint on what would happen with the kids.....
