Description
Hari’s normal. Sure, she can’t remember anything from when she was a child, but apart from that, she’s just a relatively unknown actress who dreams of making it big. All is well. That is, until she gets kidnapped. Luckily, Hari manages to emerge from that incident relatively unscathed, but… Why is the man who saved her following her around? What does a missing person’s case from twenty years ago have to do with anything? What secrets will be unearthed from Hari’s missing memories?

wow

- this was recommended to me as being an immediate 10/10, and at first i was hesitant but after reading all avail ch and some raws, i have to concur. waiting for the ending before giving it a 10/10 but just wow
- this is not a shoujo-like josei, be warned: it’s very much thriller, violence, mystery filled. not so much sex as sexual tension. lots of really dark themes and deep discussions, depicts abuse and rape. the narration is very clean cut: frankly i was shocked when the author directly mentioned “white” and “asian.” i think their other works also discuss racial tensions but this is the first manhwa in my life to ever actually capture real life societal and individual problems so clearly
- romance is very slow paced. not a fan of either ml rn, but yes i do prefer ml1 (gale) over ml2 (ahn) for the fl (hari) bc they match each other much better. tbh part of the reason i’m also taking off a point is bc it’s too slow at times and most of it consists of the hari being saved by gale which i wish she would come into her own and her character would develop
- characters are very nuanced! thought out! well developed, lots of background, thinking. you never really get their true intentions and they don’t fold randomly bc of love or wtv - they are complex, dynamic, and ever changing. it’s unlike anything i’ve ever read before
- fl is super funny. she’s got a large amount of amnesia and trauma carrying around but she’s happy-go-lucky type (which again matches gale’s “i like killing people” gloom) and a bit of an airhead. also very three dimensional and lots to unpack so i wish the author would dedicate more of the plot to uncovering that instead of dragging it (not really tho bc it’s very action focused) :>
- plot is super complex and has lots of moving parts. the mystery actually is super gripping and it’s one of those where you have tons of theories and connections for it. like one of the ones you’re a bit destroyed from and it stops you from consuming any other media that isn’t immediately it for a bit
- art is very stylized. at first i disliked it but then i got used to it and it really does suit the mood of the story. again this isn’t a sparkly historical romance oi, it is a thriller mystery so don’t you think the art should change to suit the tone?
- very realistic depiction of our world and its vices. super clever and well planned writing. yes it’s connected to and mentions parts of the authors previous work dark heaven but i won’t be reading lolll.

overall: 9/10 incredible. please read, i very much recommend.

I started reading this after Dark Heaven and wow, this is even better than Dark Heaven. I can't believe the creator was able to make Gale redeemable. Now that's good writing (and good art).

Intense and Mysterious

Time of Review: Chapter 44 (Lezhin)
Favorite Aspect: Well-executed mystery, crisp art style, and engaging characters

The tantalizing mystery slowly laid out in Guardians of the Lamb is gripping and interesting, and I always need to know more. The suspense and action is punctuated with incredibly knee-slappingly funny character moments. Every character is rich in personality and depth, especially our main character Hari, who's unabashed cheerful energy makes her the most personally relatable character I have ever read about. The consistently clean and crisp art style really accentuates the details of the story, and lends itself well to being exaggerated during its comical moments. This is my most anticipated webcomic every week, and every new chapter only makes me more excited for the next.

Episode 69 Update:
Hey so. Hey. uuuh. So I read Dark Heaven, the authors other work. Hey Gale? Gale?? I'm thankful for everything you've done for Hari but uh. Please stay away, yea? Thanks bud. 🙂
Anyways, Guardians of the Lamb continues to be an awesome read! JUNS is an incredible author, and I'm still looking forward to more story!

You Might Also Like: If you enjoy action and suspense with female leads, and slightly unhinged male leads, consider trying Koroshi Ai or Raise wa Tanin ga Ii.

What the hell?? This is amazing!? The prologue seemed so choppy but sticking with the story was the best decision I've made all week. This is suspenseful, well-paced and elegantly put together. The art is delightful and quirky, it reminds me a lot of CANIS -- there's an amazing sense of movement in each panel, and they often get repeated with a slight modification which is really interesting to read.

And the characters so far are wonderful -- Hari is such a pleasure to read about, she's charming and lovely and so, so funny. Strangely enough, her amnesia doesn't seem trite! I usually hate tropes like this but Hari wears it with a lot of confidence and that pulls the story along.

I think the chemistry between Hari and the two male leads is a real strength of this story, and doesn't lose out against the mystery/thriller plot. Gale in particular is brilliant as a love-interest -- he's exciting and charismatic and has a great dynamic with Hari. I know he'll win this love triangle and I would be glad for it, if Ahn wasn't the other point in the triangle!! Oh my f*cking god! I'm down so bad! I'm done for!

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
When I found out that Hari and Ahn had both confessed to each other but she had forgotten because Ahn wasn't going to let her walk into a relationship without knowing herself AAAAAAAAAAAA oh my god. He's the best man ever. I know he's going to lose. And he will let it happen if it means Hari is happy I am justgsdjfgjhrg I need a week ok. I can't move on from this

Such a delight to read. This feels like I am reading a Kdrama -- like I am streaming it directly to my brain without actually watching it. An incredible experience and one that I'm really really enjoying!

What a masterpiece

I felt like lowering my rating on everything else I have rated highly after reading this and the author's other work.

The suspense is SO GOOD. It feels like every chapter answers questions and raises more - but never to the point of frustrating readers. I re-read everything published several times, only to find some information I had missed the previous times.
There are theories being exchanged in comments to a degree I have seldomly seen. The work is so deep it forges a sense of community within the reader base.

Hari is such a likeable protagonist. Who needs Mary-Sues when you can have a funny, hyperactive, 3-dimensional (by that I mean she displays an array of wants, needs and emotions) amnesia-stricken mess like Hari. If I could put her into every other story I would.
Gale is making a comeback from the author's first webtoon - a little saner than before, which works out in favour of the plot and the absolutely insane level of sexual tension and chemistry between him and the female lead.
The other male lead is plot-relevant with his own personality and agency as opposed to just being the FL's simp (take note, other Love-trianlge-writing-authors!)

Overall, such a joy to read. The art took me back a second, but after a couple of chapters I fell in love with it just like I did with everything else about it.

10/10. No take-backsies.
