This is a story about two friends, from nearly the beginning to almost the end of their lives, who happen to love each other.

Tatsuya and Junichi are in 5th grade and their music teacher is a pedophile. One day the music teacher has a request for Yumi, a girl who uses him to get expensive gifts. He wants her to get Tatsuya into the music room so he can be with him. Junichi recently confessed his feelings for Yumi and she decides to use him as bait to get Tatsuya to go to the music room. Junichi and Tatsuya's future does not look good...

Note: Only chapter 1 of volume 1 and chapter 7 of volume 2 is shotacon. Reading chapter 1 is almost necessary for the story and is not very explicit, but chapter 7 of volume 2 is an extra/one-shot and can be skipped over completely for those who dislike shota.

Life is like that sometimes

This manga is really unusual for yaoi. Here's a story of what happens after "happily ever after", and sometimes it's not so happy, but it is real life.

So many people say they are made at either Tatsuya or Takako for
Spoiler (highlight to view)
having that one-night-stand and her getting pregnant. I'd say that's not so unusual for young people who think they are gay but never tried it with the opposite sex. Both were at a very vulnerable time in their lives and just wanted to see what it would be like. It's not like they planned it out. And yeah, sometimes you get pregnant from just that one time. Neither were evil, just tempted and weak.
And of course, there would have been no Kenta otherwise.

This is a manga about life, all of life, the good, the bad, the happy and the disillusionments. I think it's really a miracle that they found each other again at all. Most in that situation don't.

And as far as Kenta and Goukou(sp?) well, if they lived together for two years and nothing happened chances are it isn't going to. They made their own peace with how they care for each other and it works for them, so who are we to say it's wrong.

Overall it's a good read, I laughed, I cried (a lot!) and really felt like I got to peak into the lives of two generations of people who tried to love the best they could while dealing with societies expectations of "normal" love lives. I would really recommend it, to me it was very satisfying.

I started reading this story maybe a year ago, I remember, it was good until Tatsuya goes and have a child with a Lesvian, and sadly Jun just says ... OK, and thats all, Tatsuya the first one who admited being Gay leaves his "True love", to who he constantly said I love you, and get married, Junichi in the other hand goes heart brokern working with drag queens, the Jun you see there is so pityfull, that it makes you hate Tatsuya even more than you do alredy, well fate shure is magnanimous becouse the annoying women dies, leaving them a child, Jun forguive Tatsuya and they start a Cafe, rising Kenta, the son of Tatsuya.

So here was when I stoped, today I decided that I will end the reading and so, i did it.

the story is reapited with Kenta and his friend just that they do not end together, you see here that the autor likes to play with the way relationships are build, They dont end together but they could have been i love, Contrary Jun and Tatsuya, that ended up together but probably werent in the end in love.

To me Tatsuya really never loved Jun, even in the end he said he wasnt shure of his feeling for him talking to Minabu, I really think that if the wife wouldn't have died he would have stayed with her and in fact he do loved her, it was just that he didn't want to being left alone so he make up with Jun, who pityfully still loved him and loved him until the very end.

I don't really know how to say it but for me this story was more about mistakes, like the same Tatsuya said Once you cross the line you can't never come back to be the same, and so I think there indeed was a forever of two peoples that weren't in love but always were together and stayed in that way becouse that was the only way they knew.

While the mangaka says the main theme here is 'eternal love', I would also say it is love that's borne of friendship. What's the line between romantic love and friendship, really? How can anyone make that distinction when the feelings are so similar? As she notes at the end of the last volume, Tatsuya and Junichi's relationship progressed to rule out the possibility of friendship whilst Gakkun and Kenta choose to rule out the possibility of love. I can see why some commentators are upset Gakkun and Kenta did not end up together, but I don't think it's fair to oversimplify things and say it's because 'it's forced if everyone turned out gay'.

Here feelings are the most important, as it is possible for people (and the characters) to fall in love regardless of their orientation. Junichi claims at the beginning he isn't gay because he loves/wants only Tatsuya. Tatsuya and Yumi find their own love and happiness as friends, and then as a family. Family and love relationships don't come in as cookie-cutter designations. In this Complex excels at showing us that a love story doesn't have to be what is expected by society.

All the plot devices for this manga where just a little too bloody convenient for my taste(and cliche. OH man are they cliched, you could make a list and just check them off as they came along). If you are gonna deal with such deep situations this wasn't the form to do it on; also what horrible female characters. I have agree with someone else review on how woman in yaoi manga are just pushy and get in the way of the m/m relationship and these female characters suffer from a bad case of it. Than again this those give you a little bit on the glance on being gay in Japan was (and still is.)

This is a really amazing manga!!! It stays with you even after you have read it! I love how it spans through two generations and really shows the "going-through" part of life. It is really good, lovable, sad, disappointing, satisfying, and hilarious all at once. If you want a really good manga that illustrates realistic-esq relationships, read this!!!

One of the best mangas I've read. Doesn't matter if it's considered shounen-ai or yaoi. It shows the happy and sad sides of life. You will be able to laugh and cry over this one. Sit back relax and read all 4 books, it is really worth it. The drawing is beautiful and the story will make you think.

Really good story art was kind of drab but its not an issue for me since the story was so enthraling but it was sad especially the end i personally think kenta and gakkun should have ended up together because they seemed to fit really well why she chose for them to not be together in the end eludes me but still this is one of the best and most through shounen ai series i'v read anyone who likes shounen ai should read it

Great story! A real surprise, too, since I was rather put off at first by cover/art in general (and to think that Gakkun is such a bishounen!! ^^).

I didn't think it was fake. I mean, sure, a lot of things happen in either the worse possible way (
Spoiler (highlight to view)
a one-night experiment, and obviously the girl gets pregnant
) or the most "convenient" way (
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Takako dies just when Shinozaki and Tatsuya meet again, and they can get back together
), but, then again, life is often like that - although we don't realize it till much later.

I loved the fact that it spans through all of the characters' lives, which isn't really common. In just four volumes, you really feel like you've gotten to know all the characters really well.

Just two little things:
Spoiler (highlight to view)
- Junichi looks waaaay too gorgeous as a girl!!! ^____^
- I was really disappointed with how it ended for Kenta and Gakkun. I mean, I know that just because it's a manga it doesn't mean every character HAS to be gay, and that considering the circumstances, it's pretty normal for Ken-chan to be at the very least "confused" regarding what he really feels for Gakkun, yet I really did think that they suited each other and that Kenta was in love with Gakkun. It almost felt like they were afraid it wasn't going to work and never properly gave each other a chance.

This said... one of the best yaoi manga I've ever read!!!

I don't know how to say it but although it was a good story (the ending really made me cry *sniffs) still it gave me creeps. what really was pissing me off was this point that how the female characters were evil toward men in this story. one girl arranged one of the boys, who was in love with her as well, getting raped by a molester and another one just came out of no where and slept with the guy, got pregnant and later made him to get married with her while she actually was a lesbian!! oh man... *rolling eyes*

such a crappy characters, full of evil intentions and horrible actions... argh, call me OLD FASHION, SIMPLETON and DAY DREAMER but yet no matter how much I tried to understand and love these characters, I failed. *sighs*

Tatsuya made me SO DA*N mad u_u' you, who read the manga, knows when, geez, I almost couldn't believe it! to be truth I almost cried in that specific part, but... in exception to that part every other was incredible, made me laugh, love it in almost every single way, I took so long to start reading it, once I did, couldn't let go anymore, don't let the cover make you postpone the reading of this manga, trust me, it's incredible

just noticed tatsuya's scar vanished after first volume XD
