It definitely wasn't horrendous

I really didn't like how they did their interactions most of the time. It just felt a little awkward 🫢 and then when you feel like they should have gotten past that awkward stage, it just comes back again. It wasn't bad it was just fine.... Glad I left it alone for almost 3 year.
I stayed for the monster blood and the scales. season 2 got better but I don't understand why the bad dad traded his wealth for the lameo son.... 73 chapters until she saw him in his monster form and it was so anti climatic 😮💨 the monster babies at the end were the best

Review based on how much the prologue made me want to read the story

The prologue starts like a smut, ridiculous conversations attached with groping, anger and passion. I took interest in the deaths of the FL's husbands so I may have given this a higher rating if the prologue had stopped right there. However the prologue continues on into some overly dramatic soap opera, it gave me the feeling that the story would try real hard to take itself seriously, but logic and common sense will not exist in this world.

Based solely on the prologue I think people who enjoy soap opera's or overly dramatic romances that toss out logic all in the name of passion and love, I feel this book might be fun for you to read. I don't plan to read it, but I will skim it as I wanted to see if the prologue represented the story correctly. I figure at worst I'll get a good laugh at the ridiculousness and at best I might actually enjoy it enough to read.

...chapter 4 & 5
by TiredandDeadInside

Rating: 5.5  / 10.0
Had me hollering. She can clearly see his clothes in the courtyard where his face is also RIGHT THERE. Out in the open. When he runs after her to hug her from behind inside the castle in chapter 5 he shields her eyes and turns her to face his chest...a chest wearing the clothes she very clearly saw on a man in the courtyard. These clothes are also very luxurious and unique. She does not connect the dots. My girl is in a whole class of her own for idiocy.

Make it make sense.

However...she slowly gets better. So, 5.5 for that.

Dropped at Season 2 END.

I'm glad she's leaving. Soon, Vlad, your half siblings will have greater cause to get you into even more trouble because Lily lost ALL ability to think for herself with them there
but mainly because you can't fucking communicate you absolute fucking moron.

Argh. I cannot stand Vlad. His trauma and body dysmorphia is horrific, yes, absolutely understandable! HOWEVER you'd think with all of those level headed people beside him, who quite literally will die for him and have been loyal to him all those decades, telling him repeatedly that he's not a monster would have some kind of affect on his mental image of himself. He has zero respect for his people's words and actions, it seems.

Bizarre

Can't say I'm impressed. I mean, it's entertaining enough that I'll keep reading, but the writer makes no effort to make it clear why the male lead doesn't want the female lead to see his face. Nor does much effort go into preventing her from seeing it. When she eventually concludes that the face she saw was her husband's, there isn't even a scene where they discuss this. It's just skipped over.

The male lead shows no concern for traumatising his wife by forcing her to be together with him blindfolded. He acts like she's scum for attempting to sneak a peak of his face during the night, and later acts like he's the greatest man to ever walk into her life. I'm not even sure I understand why he appears to have fallen in love with her instantly.
The male lead lacks appeal because of the way he was introduced and his confusing motives regarding not showing his face. You know there's a reason, but the execution is so sloppy it's like some non-event.
